lol @ old xbox kids, that was a tech demo not a fully developed game,they will show some of the MOVE games at E3.

From the very few videos and demos available, especially the most recent, the lag looks very minimal on the Move, where as Kinect looks noticeably worse.

The problem with both is speed. Most demos where the players are moving slow everything looks fine. As soon as you start moving with speed the syncing looks slightly off.

Either way, I'm still not convinced Kinect has as much potential. On paper it sounds very good, but it drastically reduces the amount of games that would be available on it, although it also opens the door for some very new type of games. I'm really hoping MS surprises us with something amazing, but i'm optimistic.

Edit. Just wanted to add Sony seem a lot more upfront regarding specs. They gave all the technical details including lag quite recently I believe.

I would agree with you alkalinetrio, Unless they can show us something really spectacular tomorrow night i am just not into Kinect.

Unless they can show us a butt-ton of games for Move, how it makes things better and a sensible price i am not in for that either.

I think neither are ready for a super launch and both have rushed to get it out as the gen is getting older and older. lets keep in mind it takes a good year to make a full game decent probably. So maybe next E3 we will see stuff worth plopping 60 bux for.

sony doesnt have mario. No matter how great or accurate move is. its not gonna take nintendo fans. It will sell to current ps3 owners mainly who just wanna brag its better than the wiimote.

Fact is nintendo didnt only market to non gamers they gave basic games most call shovelware to cater to a non gamer crowd. Like rehab. Wii was being used in rehab centers, retirement homes etc etc etc.

not to mention wii allowed parents to share a character from their youth growing up mario.

Sonys move may work better, it may be more accurate, but its not likely gonna be enough to convince wii owners who do not own a ps3 to buy 1 and buy move as well.
Had sony been able to pull $199 (that most knew they couldnt afford to do) it would have helped greatly push move out the door.

Same for microsoft. price is gonna be a big factor. If natel cost wiifit price it will blow out. If it cost rockband bundle price, its not gonna be flying out.

They key for both of these devices is stock. The supply and demand shortage crap is gonna kick in. Im predict it now. Both microsoft and sony will be crying "you better buy it now, because we will be out of stock through x-mas if you dont".
This will create the demand. This will create the xmas shopping buz.

While we all would like to see a natel based fable 3. I doubt it will be 100% natel. It would cut off to many owners and drastically cut potential sales of 1 of the biggest franchises microsoft has.

Move should have more games as lets be honest devs have worked for years with the wii . natel still is trying to do to much to fast. Its a radical change like wii when it first came out. Its gonna take time for devs to get used to making games that way.

But did people really get excited over wii motion plus? Did hardcore gamers ever get excited over motion controllers anyways? If wii owners didnt buy motion plus, then whats the odds they will buy a ps3 and move and extra controllers and games?

personally i got excited from wiim+.. but not because of shitty tech demos or anything... i played sports resort and thought it worked really well.. i could spend hours on the free throw game :o

What matters is how good the game is and I doubt neither Kinect nor Move will have any problems getting good games. I still believe the Wii will stay on top even after this Christmas though. I played Mario Galaxy 2. Yes it's fun but it's plays and looks almost identical to the first. However, one look on Metacritic and journalists have gone completely mental all over it claiming it's literally the best thing ever. I simply don't get it but i can guarantee you. If the main character was not Mario, the game would score no where near the same. Honestly I think just stick another generic 3D platform character in it and it would be a completely different story. Brands sell.

If I were to go to the store right now and look for a new Wii game to buy, the game with Mario on the cover would be one I looked at first. I wouldn't be looking at it because I like Mario though. It would be because subconsciously I know that this must be a good quality game because Nintendo put a lot of time and effort into it and cared enough to put their #1 mascot on the cover. Mario is simply a big red sign that Nintendo uses to say "Here is our next big game!" So no, I don't think people actually like Mario so much as they like the games that he usually represents. That is my wishful thought anyways, to see most people buying for brand name as merely a limited understanding as to why they are buying that brand in the first place and not the alternative in which they really do like Mario and buy his games simply because they like fat jolly plumbers that wear red.

I don't get it either, I outgrew Mario after the SNES... and man did I ever love Super Mario World, and Super Mario RPG... well that Mario & Luigi RPG for the GBA was pretty cool too. LOL! Ok so I think New Super Mario Bros is one of the best wii games out, and it most certainly is better (IMHO) than the Galaxies. I know it sounds like I do like that fat pizza eating toilet clogging shroom eating freak, but I really don't like him.

Sony really do need to focus on getting themselves a mascot for the idio... err less informed gamers out there. Just look at Halo, another series I will never understand what's the appeal. I just think it's an average, well done FPS, but I don't see it as anything WOW! yet look at the sales.... how freaking obscene can a series sales be?

its just nintendo is smartass getting consumers started in video gaming. a eg. is see how they targeted our parents and made them boought their product for us when we were still young. nintendo target these group of parents because these group of consumers dont easily fades... new family new consumer. if you compare to hardcore gamers (consumers) they fade once they get a family (im telling you once these hardcore gamers get a family, majority of them would stop playing video games and thats what makes this parents -consumer thing has more stable consumer turnout ).

anyway, idk id be hook with video gaming if it werent for nintendo's earlier systems though. i guess kids now a days are damn lucky to have powerful console capable of producing superb graphics. maybe it doesnt matter to them what nintendo does with their system and can say whatever **** about wii that its graphic sux but to us who had their old system its great that they still targeting the early gamers, but i think that would change in the next console race since m$ and sony are interested with nintendos' business model to have all around family console, not for just an specific consumers.
