Microsoft has said that iPlayer on Xbox 360 is not a priority.
European senior regional director Neil Thompson said that the firm would rather develop new content and focus on the Kinect peripheral than target the iPlayer for the system.
"I think the way we look at the services we have with our TV services, we're very happy with what we're doing with Sky," he told Official Xbox Magazine.
"What we really want to do is ensure that we can differentiate and bring new things and that's about really looking at the services we have and saying, 'How can we improve those and make those even more interactive and more differentiated?'
"Now that we have Kinect coming to the platform as well I think that's all we're going to focus our energy on and that's where we're going to put all of our focus on in the next year."
Thompson reiterated his point by saying that the iPlayer is already available elsewhere and the Xbox platform would not add value to the service.

it really doesnt matter how they spin it, its all down to greed, ms refuse to put it on live silver and the BBC are not allowed to put it on a chargeable platform thats why ms went with sky because its a pay channel so they could block it for live silver users (even though it requires a seperate sub in addition to live gold).
of course this continues to make the 360 the only home console that doesnt offer the iplayer (although the ps3 version is currently out of date and offers an inferior service to the wii version it is due to get an upgrade shortly on the ps3 following the wii upgrade of a few months ago)
