£370 for a PS3 Slim and a full move setup.
£329 for a 250gb 360 and a kinect setup.
£249.99 for a 4GB 360 and a kinect setup.

Prices are still silly but they've done it. Both are going to look bad but pump out enough games for kids, women and drunken people and the price will matter.

read above post by threedog. its still cheaper then a move setup (although he says full, its full 1P setup).

lag is lag. anytime you introduce a camera to interpret movements there will be lag. this includes move.

Yep add £110 to the PS3 per player.. assuming you will play one wand, two wand and one wand + nav configs with a limit of two-four players depending on the configuration.

Single player Move is cheaper than single player kinect
Three player Move is cheaper than three player kinect (since you'll need a second console and second kinect, and second copy of the game + 2 xbox live subscriptions to get them actually against each other)
Four plater Move is limited to what controller requirements there are, four player kinect has same problem as above.

Kinects only advantage is if you are playing with two people, and really like the idea of shovelware.

Those who don't look to the past are doomed to repeat it.

Mega CD and the 32x....both overpriced accessories with a lack of good games (except 1 or 2 e.g Sonic CD), sound familiar?

really?
1 move starter kit + 1 additional move controller + 1 nav controller = way more than kinect, a second player set adds almost the full price of a second kinect.

that said if my ps3 was useable (thanks sony) i'd still be far more interested in a mii2 set than a kinect simply because despite the mii2's shortcomings its closer to the usability of the wii m+ remote than kinect could ever be without additional handheld controllers.

moves only advantage is if you are playing with 4 players at $500+ and really lke the idea of wii port shovelware.

your comparison is mute.

ill go on the record and say it, kinect will outsell move.

err there is no 4 player on kinect only 2 player and move is limited to seven devices so if play requires 2 devices then 3 players is the maximum, only single controller games can be four player so your costs dont work out.

i'll go on the record and say wii will outsell both kinect and move combined.

it was already stated that kinect can support more then two players, it just wont have full blown body recognition.

No in the uk its £110 for move starter pack and navigation controller and extra move motion controller when kinct is £130. So move is cheaper going on your options.

And who says you need all that you may just need a motion controller and camera so the basic for me is £35 for motion controller and a game of course. Since ds3 can be the navigation controller its not correct until we see a trend of controller options for it to make such guesses. It might be like the few wii games that support motion plus and be an option to use the navigation or second motion controller.

That is correct in the EU the Kinect has a higher price over the single player bundle, The advantage on price with Kinect is a new buyer bundle with a console. USA prices on Move/Kinect on their own are flipped. Price depends on region here.

/Unrelated to quoted post.
I see people are going nuts about this to the extent of spouting unverified mis-truths and im rolling around laughing... All this has proven to me is that Move/Kinect both s*** and a waste of money and the people trying to appear neutral are certainly trying to defend things to the best of their ability today ;)

Its official - Kinect is doomed to fail now just like Sony's Move already is. At least Sony's Move will get a few hardcore gamer sales though because everyone knows that the only people that dont care about something being over priced are fanboys and hardcore gamers.

To be honest the only thing that appeals to me about kinect now is the the head tracking, since I pretty much gave up on the idea of a 3D projector simply due to it just not being appealing enough at the price (not really worth it for a few films and games plus they are a drop in res and picture quality compared to my current 1080p one). However at that price kinect is affordable for me, i just couldn't justify it to myslef let alone the missus, just for the few games that are likly to support head tracking for a decent glasses free singleplayer 3D effect. Add to that the fact that I couldn't really use it in my study as it would mean moving much of the furniture out of the way.

Also not seeing any PC game developers mentioning using it, so ther goes that possible incentive. Maybe if it worked as a web cam and was released 6 months ago i would have considered it even at that price as it was then that I bought the Microsoft lifecam cinema for around £70, so the extra gaming features would have made it a viable option for me, but now there is nada.

I think the only time i'll be getting Kinect is when it's bundled as part of the default controlls for the nextgen xbox.

I do like th matt finish on the 4GB 360 tho, much nicer than piano black.

The difference between the two price wise is that you can get started with move for about £50 (wand and camera), rather than £130 for Kinect. You can then decide what you feel is required for multiplayer. For instance on my Wii I have 4 wands, 2 motion plus and 2 nunchucks because very few 4 player games require more than a wand each.

I hope with the PS3 that you will get away with a similar 4 wands and then see how using the pad as a nav controller goes or buy 1-2 nav controls. As the PS3 will only allow 7 concurrent connections then any group multiplayer games are likely to be designed with 1 wand per player in mind.

Until the games are in the wild and tested though it is impossible say whether either are any good at all, never mind represent good value. That said I will probably pick up a starter pack for each near launch

you need to remember that the nav controller does not have motion sensing so whilst you can use your remote + nunchuck on the wii you would need two mii2's to have the same effect but then you wouldnt have an analog stick unless you tried using a ds3.
