Move would be better if the product didn't look like an ice cream cone (bit a cheap-shot isn't it?).
not really... ice cream cone is probably the nicest thing ive ever heard move called.
Both have a lot to offer and neither will probably bewinners.
Move will get gimmicks like wii or wii ports.
kinect just doesnt have a user base to warrant a ton of titles that are complex.
Its very late in the games. Sony obviously cares more about 3-d and microsoft probably has another agenda with kinect as well. Both are more beta tests. Next gen they probably will both be on both systems and better more accurate versions.
But at the end of the day, sony doesnt have all the experience Nintendo does with motion controllers nor do they have the franchise characters and games that help wii sell.
Really how good would wii be without mario, zelda etc etc etc......
Kinect is uncharted water with a very small boat. Yes there is a chance that being different will pay off but the odds are against it.
But in both cases is going into the 4th quater and next gen is looming and being worked on by all 3. That really doesnt reassure faith that these addons will get fully supported.

What a logical comment... Wait? Metro? Usually when it comes to newspapers and gaming they just say anything is good. Maybe I might actually read the newspaper the next time I'm out alone bored instead of just skipping to the sudoku.

The one comment I have is that you mention that Sony doesn't have "the experience Nintendo does with Motion controllers"...
Well, prior to the Wii, Nintendo had, in regards to motion-controller experience, the POWER GLOVE! That is about it, well, that and the Game Boy's Tilt and Tumble games...hell, prior to the Wii, Sony had FAR more experience with true motion control than Nintendo (Sony had the PS2 EyeToy, and they had a game that Microsoft mimics in EyeToy: Antigrav)...Sony had "Wii Boxing" before Wii Boxing in the PS2's EyeToy Play Boxing..it wasn't as accurate as Wii, and nobody bought it because it was a peripheral game that was put out as a side-thought to the real stuff for PS2...in many ways the EyeToy games that DID make it out for PS2 are almost as good as the Wii Play and other "Party Game Collections" that Wii gets...they are just unknown and not marketed...partly because the PS2 uses a controller primarily, and the EyeToy is just a novelty for it, whereas the Wii had the full marketing power of Nintendo behind it and used the motion controller as its primary input device...it just so happened that, because of excellent marketing and a few good party games, Nintendo has made out like bandits on their first attempt.

Finally...some media guys play it and.... what oh yeah there's that lag that all those private media sessions with microsoft and big names failed to pick up ... then all excited I went to play it at a media event at a microsoft store in San Diego and was completely like...WTF this thing is horrible...the lag is unbearable. And all within the 3 minute window they allowed me to play (stood up and on their line)...
...honestly the idea of kinect is cool and in fairness it seems to work (albeit with uber lag), and maybe in 5 years they'll have the lag worked out and it will be pretty awesome, mixed with a controller of some type to play with while I sit down on the sofa and play.
Right now its simply trying to steal the wii crowd but isn't ready
As for Sony (and M$)... motion controls will never work unless you bundle them with each and every system! Its simple who's goiung to bother developing for a minority of owners on a system...wii=everyone has motion controls cos they came with every single system...100% there...Sony will be lucky if they get 10%...and then whos gonna bother developing for them...not many so not many more are ever gonna get involved....
All that said...and not being a fanboy since I own 360 and PS3...I'll be buying move, cos I have a wii...its fine for any casual urges I get with friends, but move can at least cater to the hardcore a little (I'm mainly thinking res5 and so-com) kinect however is SOOOooo completely casual for the moment.

Its the old gamescentral team under a new guise so yes its very good source for information as they are good old fashioned reviewers.

I wasnt talking about before this gen experience but more. Nintendo lived and died by motion controls this gen.
So experience wise is more talking they know what the system can or can not do and how to make it do what the want, in some case they make it doo-doo.
But nintendo9 has games that have been in development, sony has only had about a year to have the tools to devs.
EX: had sony had move controls all along from day 1 with ps3. The level of experience would be just as great as nintendos or better because hardware wise the ps3 can do more.
So the experience comment was based on this gen and where we are at right now.

Well, really, Sony has been fiddling with Motion Controls for longer than Nintendo has...
The only difference is that Sony did not make them the primary form of user input for their games with the launch of the PS3, whereas Nintendo DID for the Wii...
Again, the EyeToy, and then later the Eye, have been out for far longer than the Wii, and Sony has been dabbling in the market, researching this and that for FAR longer than Nintendo has...

How long though wasnt my point. I wasnt taking dabling in the field. But rather making it the main focus and day in day out considering it experience.
Nintendo doesnt just dable in the ocean, they own the ocean. Sony just fished in the lake a few times.

I do agree with you on one thing, danight, Nintendo lived and potentially could have fiscally died by motion controls this generation.
I think the factors that worked to Nintendo's favor were that they launched with a price that was like $200 cheaper than PS3 and at least $100 cheaper than 360. What then happened was that people bought into the new system because it was relatively cheap...those people were impressed with the new control scheme so more people bought it, and now, it is just a runaway success because of the combination of innovation in their controller and a relatively low price...

You forgot Wii sports, that was what allowed the console to be a success at launch.
My parents got my Wii because of this game and so do many of the other people I know.
But yeah, GC are very reliable with their reviews.

Wii sold for two reasons:
1) low price (non-gamers are less likely to buy an expensive console)
2) a killer app (wii sports) that also appealed to non-gamers
Low game prices (<$50 vs $60 for xbox and ps3) and strong first party titles also helped.
So far there are no killer apps for move and kinect and their game libraries will be extremely small compared to the Wii. And the base price for both kinect/move are above that for the wii (considering you still need to purchase a console).
Also, I expect Nintendo to lower the price of the wii later this fall and possibly release the 3DS before the holidays. If either of those happen then it will be Nintendo under most trees instead of move/kinect. Without a big initial launch these things will not get the buzz that made the wii so successful.

this is true as of now, but when wii launched it was just under $300. 360 and kinect is bundled for $300 so its not too far fetched.
when wii came out the price was right, and it was a new technology that hasn't been done before well with video games.
if anything wii sports and zelda were the two big reasons why wii sold like it did. and like mentioned before, move nor kinect have this.
