See guys? This is why you shouldn't pirate games. Those development studios need more than just 3 or 4 million dollars. Even 24 million isn't enough. C'mon guys, cerealesly.

I have often thought about writing some sort of indie type game, my main problem is I am terrible at art both visual and musical lol

I guess I could always go total retro and make some sort of text game like Zork...

Not everyone is this established iLLNESS. There are independent studios that make a game and just make their money back over and over where failure results in the studio crashing and/or the assets sold.

There are different levels of indie from the five minute fun game to the successful game funded and released by a top level publisher.
