Mathieulh just posted on his twitter that an Iphone compatible version of PSFreedom has just been released. Thank goodness, now if I can just figure out how to compile it. I think my Iphone just smiled at me.

From PSFreedom Wiki

A small testing version has been uploaded (see the README for details). This will as always only work on the iPhone 2G/3G and iPod touch 1G and needs OpeniBoot installed. More will be written here later on as it's late here right now.

OpeniBoot probably means it's running under a Linux/Android kernel.

Ok my happiness was short lived. After having read the readme for installing Openiboot I may have cried a little.
BE WARNED THAT THESE STEPS ARE NOT INTENDED FOR NOVICES. YOU ATTEMPT THIS AT
YOUR OWN RISK. AT THIS TIME, WE CANNOT AFFORD THE EFFORT REQUIRED TO GIVE
SUPPORT TO NOVICES AND/OR RESCUE THEM FROM THEIR OWN ACTIONS.
Although unlikely, if the installation goes wrong, you may have to perform a
DFU restore on your iPhone. If you do not know how to do that, you should not
follow these steps. You should also know how to use iRecovery (or similar) and
the fsboot command to "kick an iPhone out of recovery mode". If you do not
know how to do that, you should not follow these steps.
The installation of openiboot itself is safe, but openiboot has the facility
to erase device-specific information from your NOR flash. If you did not make
a backup, and execute the commands necessary to make openiboot erase that
information, it is gone forever and your device may never boot properly again.
Yeah well homebrew on my PS3 is gonna have to wait. I hate to say it but I love my iPhone more than I love my PS3. If I brick my PS3, oh well I buy another one and am out a couple hundred. If I break my iPhone I won't be able to call my wife to tell her "Sorry babe I just broke my phone and well I guess I will be spending the night with the dog, please forgive me."
/sigh
Looks like I will be buying a usb board after all.

I don't understand how to install this thing, I am very confused. Has anyone done this? and could they create a install guide? My jailbroken 3G on 3.12 is awaiting this :)

You have to be running iphodroid with OpeniBoot...

Ok, so I decided to grow a pair and load this on my iPhone. I am glad to say all went well and I can now enjoy my PS3 to the fullest. This is what I did and the tools you will need.
Hardware needed:
iPhone Jailbroken on 3.12 (that is what I am on)
PC
Download: iPhoDroid_1SHOT_R13i_3G_PC.zip
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4JBVUCFX
Download: PSFreedom for Apple iPhone 2G and 3G
http://psfreedom.com/wiki/IPhoneLinux
Download: i-FunBox
http://www.i-funbox.com/download/ifunbox_en.zip
Config i-FunBox
1. Install i-FunBox on pc
b. If i-FunBox won't connect to your phone open Cydia and download afc2add.
Install iPhoDroid on iPhone
1. Extract iPhoDroid_1SHOT_R13i_3G_PC.zip to your desktop.
2. Connect iPhone to PC.
3. Click on iPhoDroid.exe and a window should open, if iPhoDroid says alpha expired, you change your computer clock to 02 September 2010, I had to. Once Lanched click "Shoot" this will then install Android to your iPhone. Once this has done your phone will boot to a menu, pust the power botton on the top right of the phone, this will scroll through the boot options, push the power botton untill you get to the bottom left hand corner where you will see "Install" now push the home button and it should install fully to your phone. Once installed your phone should boot into Android, now you need to exit Android by using the little circle on the left hand side on the main home screen. Your phone will power off, when you power the phone on you will be greeted with the boot menu, choose the apple logo which will but you back to your phone, you will find your now stuck in recovery so go back to iPhoDroid.exe and this time instead of hitting "Shoot" you need to hit "Exit out of Recovery". Your iPhone OS will now boot as normal from now on.
Copy over files from PSFreedom for Apple iPhone 2G and/or 3G
1. Unzip the PSFreedom for Apple iPhone 2G and/or 3G folder to your desktop.
2. Make sure your iPhone is booted in it's normal Apple OS.
3. Launch i-FunBox and connect to iPhone. Navigate to private/var
4. Copy files the 2 files from within PSFreedom for Apple iPhone 2G and/or 3G to private/var, it should then ask you if you want to overwrite, that is OK. Then right click on the files (file permissions) and change them both to 777.
5. The Jailbreak will now be installed.
Using psgroove Jailbreak
1. Power off iPhone and launch Android from the new boot menu, your iPhone will have loads of text lines appearing, wait for the "INIT" text to appear (the phone is now ready)
2. Connect the iPhone to your PS
3. Flick to power switch (on the back) of the PS3 to off then on.
4 Push the power button (on front of console) and straight after push the eject button.
5. You will notice the text on the iPhone starts scrolling again.
6. Your PS3 should now be booted jailbroken (you should now have 2 folders within the game selection screen)
Ok, so I decided to grow a pair and load this on my iPhone. I am glad to say all went well and I can now enjoy my PS3 to the fullest. This is what I did and the tools you will need.
I have an iPhone 3G with IOS 4.01. Would following this still work for it? I'm at work right now and can't run the risk. When I get home, I think I'll chance it.

Yeah sorry, i-FunBox won't allow you to change the file permissions. However, Filezilla or ifile (cydia app) will.

Anyone having issues with 3g + Slim? I looks like I get the correct output on my phone, but the folders never appear....Any suggestions?

Make sure you unplug/plug the powercord from the back of the Slim PS3 before you boot it up.. EACH TIME.. :)

I'm getting tired of seeing this. I've only unplugged my ps3 like twice before that got way too old.
If your unit is plugged into a surge protector or into the wall outlet that has an on off switch, just putting the switch off and then on again is enough. Now we're saving time.

I put a lamp switch on my power lead near the end where it plugs into the PS3 Slim..
The fact that we have done this does not mean they have or it is convenient for them to reach said power switch behind their entertainment unit.. But yes it does get old fast

True, true. Just my (less than tactful) friendly suggestion. Very classy response on your part.
