Correct method to play PS3 from hd without original disc(this not a fake)

I prefer post Maxconsole because i don´t have permission to put this in PS3news. I know that several people tried this without sucess and i i1m luck in find what was wrong.

1 - Delete oficial manage.pkg from xmb.

2 - When you delete it, the games that were in: dev_hdd0/game/LAUN12345/GAMEZ will be relocked to dev_hdd0/game diretory. You have to run PS3 ftp Server and delete all theses PS3 thas was loaded by backup manager.

3 - Download RDX manager from eurasia http://www.eurasia.nu/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&lid=7053&ttitle=RDX_PSJailbreak_manager

4 - Do ps3jailbraik procedure and install RDX manager

5 - Run ps3 ftp server and put your ps3 backup into dev_hdd0/game/LAUN12345/GAMEZ
you have to put the game into diretory id like BCES00664.
ex. dev_hdd0/game/LAUN12345/GAMEZ/BCES00664/[games files]
obs. use filezilla ftp cliente.

4 - Get ImgBurn and put udf revision 2.5 in option. Put disk id ex. [BCES00664] in imgBurn

5 - You, now have to get a small game( < 2G). I have sucess using Wipeout and i don't know if with other game all will be right. Burn like this:
-Put Disk id in ImgBurn
put in the DVD-R(i use LG) all the file that are in disk id diretory

Disk id [BCES00664] -> Wipeout
/PS3_GAME
/PS3_UPDATE
Obs. This burning will not boot, only a truck to RDX manager boot that game that you have put in PS3 HD.

6 - Put your burned DVD. See if Ps3jailbrake is Green. Run RDX manager.
You will see this
-dev_bdvd (the disk you burn)
-othe games that you put in HD.

Go and run it will work like a charm. I will post one video sartuday.

Confirmed working (to a point)..

I have 7 games on my HD.. they all started but failed at different points with different errors (Corrupt Data, Registration of Trophy Information could not be completed, etc).. Except one MX vs ATV:Untamed

99% sure I know why but it could be for different reasons possibly but I think In some cases a small workaround is possible.. I'm having a look now.. There is a few different things I can fiddle with..

I tried two different discs.. One was burned with Windows 7 stock standard 'Burn Files To Disc' and one with 'ImgBurn' (As Above) with the SAME results.. NFS:Shift was the game I used..

You do not need to use ImgBurn..

Yes..

It seems that for the game to install any data (Trohpy, Install Data) it needs to be launched from the XMB not the autostart that RDX has.. To do this we have to have a real game in the drive.. Even after it is installed it I believe most games won't run without a real game in the drive

So for the everyday user this method would be most unsatisfying as it was to my understanding that RDX was not made for retail machines anyway.. :)

edit: Put disk id ex. [BCES00664] in imgBurn <--- where can I find that option... cannot find it anywhere. Also do you need to put the [] ?

Its under Change Automatic Write Speed.

Remember though this isn't going to work very well at all and also check the SFO to ensure the disc id is correct.

I found with 'Assassin's Creed II' when I let RDX start the game it started to install the game data to a different Disc ID that started with either BJUC or BJUS (can't remember) instead of it's normal BLES.. It still failed though.. I might do some more fiddling around with it today..

I still can't get games to run from dvd-r, havent tried but virtua fighter 5. but what i did find is that burning a disc at udf 1.02 in imgburn of any ps3 game (the ps3game folder, ps3update and the odd othr file) will allow u to boot games thru backup mgr without the need for a retail disc.
Step 1: burn ps3 game as mentioned in this thread but leave udf at 1.02 in imgburn
Step 2: run jailbreak method with no disc in drive using rdxmanager instead of retail backup manager
Step 3: launch rdxbackup manager and then quickly insert your burned ps3 dvd-r
Step 4: launch games from internal/external HDD with no retail disc whatsoever and then remove after game boots if u like

Hell, before u even waste a dvd-r, the above method works with any DVD_VIDEO disc...only tested on rdxmanager, feel free to test on retail backup manager. and once you boot a game, you can simply quit and boot into whatever other games u have or ur hdds with no need for disc until u restart the console.
eDIT...SEEms if u wanna switch games without restarting the process just leave whatver disc u used to boot in the drive
