Hey All,

So Im Coming from the PSP hacking community so Im pretty savy with Eboots and other such things. However, Im a bit cloudy on how everything works here. I am currently running a rooted and Modded Nexus One and am excited to hear that I can hack the PS3 with it.

Seeing as I am also pretty savy with my OS on my phone I understand how to get the hack working. The questions begin coming once I get the N1 and PS3, integrated so to speak. I know that I will have to do this little trick everytime I completely power down my PS3, which isnt a big deal as I don't often move around with my systems. My questions come in, One how do I get a back up manager onto the system as the PSFreedom page says that this crack doesnt allow backups to be played.

I have done some Forum searching as I always try to do but I must not be using the right Keywords or something. Also, is there currently any way to make the Jailbreak permanent? I dont mind so much changing my CM 6.0.0 around to work with the PS3 as its not a big deal but it still could be a hastle later on.

Thanks so much!
Miles Aeon.

You need a patched version of PSFreedom or you need to alter the source code (if it exists) yourself.

You will not find the patched version here but assuming you know how to google you'll find it. Once you have that put the manager on a USB stick and install it.

There is currently not a way to make the exploit permanent.

Awesome, Thanks so much for that. One last question on the crack then. When you say everytime you power down do you mean every time you turn it off (IE, I finished playing my game and turn it off) or every time I flip the back switch/pull the plug?

Thanks again everyone!

Every time you flip the switch/pull the plug.

Process:
1. Flip the switch/unplug your console.
2. Plug in your USB board/dongle/phone/device.
3. Flip the switch/restore power.
4. Press power and then eject.

Once the console boots you'll have two new XMB icons and will be ready to install software.

Cool Cool. Well I got what I need for my phone and a couple other things. I was reading a thread on here today where they mentioned different versions of the Back Up manager? Whats the main difference between the three of them? I plan on getting a 640 Gig Hard drive for my PS3 so it can use all internal equipment and I dont have tons of wires laying around, unless its better to back up to an external then I will simply buy an external.

Sorry If this stuff has been gone over as I have read most of the forums and Details are hard to come by. If I have this right please let me know.

V 1.0 Back Up Manager = Internal and External (External Is required for Files over 4 GB?)
Patched BUM 1.0 = Internal and External (4GB limit is ignored on external?)
Stealth BUM 1.0 = Same as above but hides the ID of the games?

So if I want to use completely external I will need to find the Patched BUM Via Google?

Thanks for all the help!

The new loader of choice is Open Manager v1.13 due to compatibility and minor improvements.
You can rip your games from the disc with 4gb+ files directly to the internal drive ;)

To be completely covered you may need both but it could also be a mistake (madden 11)
