I don't really give a fook anymore about this, but hey, YAY! for anyone that still does care.
I will admit I'm curious as to what type of tech sony will include in the thing.

Second that. My other reaction was more sarcastically meant, because Sony should have released the PSP2 at the moment they released the PSP3000, but now it's too late. On top of that, I don't want Sony anymore after what they've done in the last years. I still have my PSP2000 and will probably keep that, but if Sony doesn't change, it's the last piece of Sony gear I've ever bought.

Yeah I am just too jazzed about the 3DS to really care about the PSP2, don't get me wrong I am curious about it but unless its something fantastic its going to be a no sale for me as well.
Just my 2 cents.

Can't see me buying another handheld for a long time as it just doesn't fit my life anymore as I rarely use public transport that was the ideal opportunity for them. Would be more interested in a psp 2 than 3ds for simply the games I have enjoyed as sick of nintendo rehashes though a new pilotwings has me questioning that. A move to more shorter cheaper games like the minis would suit the psp 2 better than game designed for home consoles that require too many hrs to be put in when you might play rarely. But nice trolling by the mods on here anyway.

We're just putting in our two cents just like anyone else.
Then Sony supporters will always cry troll when they see something they don't like its one rule for them and another for everyone else.

Even if it's true, I am not currently remotely intrested in another Sony handheld, if after 5 years they are still struggling to make the original PSP deliver consistantly I don't hold out much hope for a new version. Mine is still sat in a drawer in the spare bedroom since a week after Rockband was released on it which was about 18 months ago. Been tempted to give it away a few times but I keep hoping I'll have a reason to use it again and not for a ready boost drive or memory stick reader which is how I used it the most for the last 5years.
No Sony will really have to put the effort in like nintendo do and make an effort to keep a new handheld supplied with handheld geared games, if they want to win back those of us who backed them at the start only to loose intrest due to decidedly average game quality (don't get me wrong there are some gems on it but they are few and far between).

I wouldn't say "never"..but I am not thinking about until I drop dead from playing game on my 3DS!!!!!
Well, if Sony can get decent Tales games ( with Jap Dubs ) ...and a hack is avaliable, and emulators can play PS2 games on the PSP2,( adn Snes and GBA can play with better visual filters...).... I would reconsider, BUT not to Play PSP2 games....the PSP already gave us a hint of what Sony aiming for... Ports port ports ports...

I know it is off topic but we will see the DN4E demo next week if we get the Borderlands GOTY. On topic, Sony will only succeed if they release it with CFWand that's not going to happen.
sounds about right, i mean how much longer do u think they'd wait ? lol.
if anything psp 2 is overdue.
late 2011 seems right, probably will happen.

what picopir8, threedog, Billy and DEDDOA said, pretty much sums my views up right there, the management of the ps3 and PSP and the whole piracy issue puts me off for life, they'd need to seriously impress to get me to buy a sony games console again

I wouldn't boycott a game over something so silly, Its not like changing the name from morphine has had any adverse effect on the hardware or the software.. its just a different label.
As far as it goes i have given Sony all the chances they're going to get and that is the end of it, They're no longer essential to gaming.

they started whining about game censorship (LOL) and so on, IIRC. oh well, it's just a old story now.

Wonder if sony is going to do what they did with move...
And just slap a glasses free 3d screen on a new more powerful handheld and call it a day...
That would be weak!
Like most above i am interested in what they do.. But doubt i will buy it... Handheld dept. nintendo takes the cake for me.. They just know what to do and do it better than anyone else..

I don't even remember that, I do remember fallout 3 having trouble with the ratings boards though. Things like that are cosmetic anyway. Fallout 3 is set in another timeline and brands like vault-tec and nuka-cola are highly effective in the wasteland.
It kind of makes sense to me that something like morphine would be packaged, branded and sold as med-x, It's no longer a prescription remedy and is in heavy demand and also needs a catchy name.... i have thought way too much about this haven't i?

So I'm trolling because I'm expressing my disdain and distrust for sony? Unlike you I felt affected by all of sony's bone headed moves. Funny how most of you sony defenders have no problems when I call out ms on their idiocies, or dismiss the wii for not having 5 games that interest me.
I have my opinions, and just because I'm a mod doesn't mean I'm not entitled to them. Just to further elaborate SONY SUCK HAIRY TESTICLES! and unless things change very dramatically this is the last generation they will see any $$ from me.

You were going off topic as others just turning into a anti sony thread which is something mods are here to stop. Nothing wrong with an opinion but your own words were of no real use and sounding like the many we read in every ps3 or psp thread that add nothing to the topic so why bother posting comes to mind.
I have not defended Sony here and to say I have points your out again as the usual type on here who call people fanboys because they disagree with you. I am defending the topic staying on track which is opinions about the psp2 and what it might be or what people think of it.

I'm talking about sony in both posts, and I'm talking about the fact that even though I'm curious as to what they will do the chances are next to none that I would buy anything from sony, so I ask again, how is that off topic? My second post, is a direct response to everybody basically feeling the same way I am.
As far as adding nothing to the thread, maybe not so for you, but it seems that most of us are in agreement about this. Whether we plan to get the device or not is clearly a valid branch of this topic. We are not talking about getting or not getting a 360, a new GPU, or lemonade.
Lastly,... you know what it would be too easy to prove your constant defense of sony's actions, so I won't even waste time with that. LOL! at the fact you claim to not having defended sony yet; what was that accusation of me trolling? was that not prompted by what you perceived to be an attack on sony?

I'd ignore the "you are going off topic" comments as they are usually only applied as the new Sony defence arguement when there is nothing they can contribute that puts Sony in a better light or can contradict your claims.
Anyone with an intrest in gaming, not a console or it's manufacturer has been at least been irritated by Sony this gen. I would consider mself a PS fan, I have had each console at or near launch, and still have them (admitedly my PS1 doesn't see much use due to PC emulators but I still have it, same with my PS2 now the emulators are starting to work nicely).
I snapped up the PSP on launch day in the UK having played a mates japanese launch model and enjoyed and impressed playing wipeout and if I recall burnout, I was unlucky and got a duff one but had it replaced the following morning, and I wasn't dimayed these things happen. I enjoyed it for a fair few months but as time went on the game quality seemed to dry up and decent releases became noticable only by the fact that there were so many poor ones. Sony carried on with their atempt to market it against the Ipod, and while it annoyed me I accepted that, but still things got worse and worse.
Many blame the decline on rampant piracy, I too would have agreed with that at one point, but frankly the piracy levels are no worse than on other format that are hit bad but carry on doing well, so the excuse seems less and less realistic to me. Simply put it's a total direguard by Sony when it comes to supporting their own products, nintendo back their own stuff all the way, and it shows even with rampant easy to do piracy, Sony expected 3rd party support they recieved on the PS1 and 2 but as was to be expected, they didn't recieve it. The daft thing was even tho the lack of major 3rd party support was clear (not to mention complaints from devs as to what exactly Sony thought he PSP was meant to be) they didn't change their approach, they jsut stuck with the minimal first party games and claims it was an Ipod competitor (at least until it was way to late).
Sonys poor management of their consoles when they are in anything less than a first place spot is pittyfull, and to be brutally honest, 5 years on they are still showing next to no sign of changing that policy.
I can't deny that Sony make some great consoles, and the occasional "first party" games (I say occasional as they do make a fair few but not in nintendo numbers), but having been lucky and had to winning streaks they still think their approach is best and arrogantly claim so.
I'm hoping they learn, I really do, and there have been improvements, but nothing that says outright that the PSP2 or PS4 for that matter will be approached any differently, and as such I for one won't be touching any sony console unless it proves it's worth (or as I did with the gamecube, buy it at the end of it's lifecycle with all the games I liked for it).
This of course is my own view based on my experience.

THIS is exactly where i am with Sony too,
can we have this wheeled out as a standard response to any blind PS fans that don't see the problems?
