Shoot I've been reading that the bootloader for the PS3key is locked and can't be written to

You can use it but you'll loose the boot loader, it's in the first 50 pages of the usual psx place ;)

For anyone with a Ps3Key:

Once you flash it this way, there is no way back, you always have to use the teensy 1.0 hex because you erase the Ps3Key bootloader.

1 - Install the Atmel FLIP program.
2 - Insert your PS3Key in bootloader mode
3 - Windows will detect the new hardware as AVR Key (AVR DFU Bootloader) and you have to install the drivers manually, you will find them in the directory where you installed the Atmel Flip program (Example: C / Program Files / Atmel / Flip 3.4.2/usb)
4 - Run the Atmel Flip, and go to to device and select ATMEGA32U2.
5 - Go to Settings> Communication, and click on Open USB.
6 - Trough the file menu open the the Hex file (in this case the psn online hex)
7 - We leave all options enabled and start the erasing and programming.
8 - It will erase the PS3Key bootloader, and put the teensy 1.0 hex file on it.

I'm sittng here debating the change of my PS3key to a generic Teensy...the PS3key team is slack and slow as hell to do updates...besides not being able to go back to the PS3key official software is there any downside to the conversion?

Just letting you know that you can now get latest PSN/3.50 Version Spoof for 3.41 on all PL3 payloads at the same place..

Uploaded it late last night or early this morning.. Can't remember LOL.. Enjoy

There's an update on the PS3key website to handle PSN i doubt it's as good as what the skunk is doing though.
