I was trying to use the PS2 backup feature in the new Multiman but in order to do that I needed to replace the category_game_tool2.xml with a modified one. I used mount Alejandro to enable write and gained access to dev_alejandro folder then as I tried to replace category_game_tool2.xml in dev_alejandro/vsh/resource/explore/xmb, my fxp client crashed on me. When I exited to xmb, I found out that my game column is completely empty so I'm unable to launch anything in jb mode. Luckily the column reappeared in non-jb mode. However, does this mean my jailbreak mode is now bricked since I can't launch anything from the game column? Help appreciated.

Did you make a backup of the original before trying to replace it?
If no i suggest you backup all of your content (or at the very least your saves).
Use the consoles recovery features such as resetting the console to factory defaults.
As for the FTP server the console can get panicky with certain clients so if you do try it again use another client.
Well I made a backup long before I ripped my 20 or so PS3 games so I don't want to do it again. I tried to switch int. hdd but that didn't fix it, finally I went into recovery mode and reflashed 3.41 through system update and it worked; I can see the column again. Thanks for your help and happy new year!
