I'm thinking about buying a xbox headphone so i can play games at night while the wife is sleeping. I don't do live so i have no use for chatting. I wanna know if I buy an xbox headphones, will the headphone let me listen to all of the game's sounds and prevent the sound from playing through the tv? or are xbox headphones only used for hearing other people talk?

It all depends on how your sound system is set up. If you have your xbox hooked up to a receiver with speakers and all you can hook up a head set into the receiver itself. And they also make specific head phones for game consoles like the xbox or ps3. You can find them on best buy's website. Then just mute your TV and your good to go. I have a 1 year old son and when he sleeps thats what I do.

doesnt your tv have a headphone socket? just buy a set of wired or wireless headphones and plug them into the tv.

I have tritons, and i normally play online, but they do sound sooooo much better than any surround sound i've ever heard, also you can use them to here music, movies, and any other platform such as the pc, etc.
