Oh LOL!, just LOL!!!!!

WOW, I'm starting to think that it is possible that sony will not be able to recuperate from all this crap. I would only feel sorry for those that are simply employed there and have no real say in how the company runs. Ideally the investors would demand resignations from all the more douchy chiefs, and hell maybe in a few years I, as well as many others, will be able to trust sony.

I love this.

Just the shear amount of power the hackers have when they have enough will is spectacular.

Sony must now realise they simply cannot go raiding houses on people developing Linux for the PS3 and get away with it....

As far as sony investers, I'm thinking this pic portrays their current mood more accurately

What I hope is that these hackers leave some holes open for themselves ready for E3.
For every day of the event a new hack is revealed.

with the situation they are in, i could see sony hiring an outside party to hack nintendo and or microsoft just to take the weight of their tiny little shoulders.

of course though, in the end sony will be in the spotlight when another of their servers gets hacked and the hacker posts the email logs showing sony was behind the attacks to the other companies.

wouldnt that be a funny thing.

Wats funny is that you guys just say sony deserves it, well wat if it is YOUR information thats slapped all over the internet, hmm who's really losing here?

My information has already gone and protected so there's no point in worrying about that. Lets see who's losing here - $3 billion loss to Sony - Irreparable damage to company reputation - bailing shareholders - investigations - multi million /$/ fines.

They've lost far more out of this than I ever will in this situation.

Id rather lose my personal data than have to tell shareholders just how bad my company sucks and how it has failed to make them any money or keep their investment sound. Sony may as well change their name to Anus as they're.... ;)

Also what's funny is "wats funny" get an H key damnit.

... our info is already slapped all over the net, as TD said, no point losing any sleep over it now; crying myself to sleep will not erase my data from the internet, so I might as well enjoy the ride and the pretty fireworks.

Basically, we have two options... 1) cry that our data's been compromised, to no real avail, or 2) enjoy the show sony's complete and utter incompetence has so graciously put on for us; well if you were dropped on your head as a baby you have a 3rd option... defend sony for thinking that they shouldn't have had security because it's wrong to hack into others' networks, so that should have been enough to deter hackers.

I feel sorry for the average Sony employee who is just doing their job in the IT department who will be getting it in the kneck for these cut corners that keep letting hackers in. They are the ones who are at risk of loosing their jobs for just working with what they are given or allowed, when it's usually the likes of managers and directors who are to blame for skimping of security to save money in the short term, nine times out of 10 they have no IT knowlege beyond how to turn thie PC on and type out memo's and reports using the latest buzz words that make them sound important.

I have no sympathy for Sony as a company, but this is getting beyond a joke when hackers have to show them the holes in their security over and over and over.

When they get the PSN store online it will be up for maybe a few hours before another attack . This scenario will no doubt lead to some hilarious E3 announcements regarding PSN. I can see it now:

"we are proud to announce that all PSN features are back online and unhackable" and 2 minutes later it's down again when they try to demonstrate..

You know, I wouldn't be surprised if one day a firmware update comes out but some hacker made it so the boot vid said "all your base are belong to us".

Seriously, Sony and security are like Fox News and being liberal.

I think they should forget Sony, because its quite boring with all these web page hacks.

Sony deserved some crap because of the degrading of PS3 firmware. Like less compatible USB support etc.
No matter how much crap Sony is doing, certain people can still play "backups" on PS3. PS3 is hacked, and Sony cant stop it no matter what they do with the new firmwares, because pirate users uses a older custom one which is proper for piracy i seems.

I cant hack my PS3, because i use PSN Store...and PSN+.. I buy every damn game i play.

PSN Store should be up within 8 days. Atleast 90% sure.

They promised that the last 2 months of updates will be available on day 1! We will see if that was just another Sony LIE.

So looking forward to Sony's E3 Conference, if they are still having one. Bet it got hacked. I will be giggling throughout the whole thing.

As much as I always preferred Sony's conference for the last 2 years. Yet I still don't have god damn mkv native support. Seriously... I really hate converting my damn mkv.

Was really hoping for a homebrew media player but that didn't really materialize.

There is a pretty decent homebrew media player for PS3 that has MKV support, I am having mixed results with it myself it works fantastic but it still crashed on a movie I was trying to play. Interestingly on the same video the PS3 would crash after 10 minutes but in the homebrew player it would crash after like 50 minutes. Same video plays fine on my PC and in WiiMC.

Anyway if your interested in trying out the video player for PS3 I will post the link here :)

Edit: This one is being actively developed so it will probably get better in the future.
