Sony BGM?
isn't that the stuff they hacked last time.

Sony BGM sites across the planet (but different sites).. the main attack last time was Sony pictures where they stole like 1 million accounts and posted a bunch online..
truthfully its hard to keep up, Some sites report slower than others and the attacks are happening faster then stuff gets reported.

Who really cares anymore? The world is still turning. Sony hasn't gone under. People aren't bowing to hackers.
Instead of hacking, maybe they should spend time trying to find women (or men).

Instead of telling people to go out and start dating why won't you start by say something more original?

It's a metaphor for being productive. When is the last time a company bowed to hackers or any other rogue group. Never. Companies are controlled by the almight dollar. These hackers want Sony to bend to thier wishes. They won't. Why? They don't respond to threats. They are a corporation that thrives on profits. In fact, it isn't even the company. It's the stockholders. Investors invest money in companies to make money themselves. Chances are, if you a working citizen, you have a 401k that is made up of stocks and bonds. You want your money to work for you. If you invest in a company that says they can do a, b, and c and produce such and such a profit, you would be all for it. Now, if that company said that they are changing thier business plans becuase a bunch of hackers are happy, you would be pissed, especially if you lost money.
These hackers are ignorant. They don't understand that when they hurt a company, they take money from people like you and me. The funny thing is, if it was thier company, they would run it the way they wanted and wouldn't dare change for a bunch of hackers who hide behind thier computers.
If you want to change something, use your money as your voice and not your little computer tricks.

The hackers aren't ignorant, you have misunderstood their intention. I don't think the hackers have demands. Their goals is to make Sony lose money and go bankrupt by having loyal consumers and stockholders abandon them. So far they are succeeding. If consumers insist on being loyal to sony and crying about hackers then they are getting whats coming to them and they have had a fair amount of warning. I believe Stockholders are much smarter than loyal consumers and they are selling shares as we speak.

No, I think we are all aware that many companies' security wouldn't be able to cope with these attacks either... the difference here is that they don't usually go an pick fights with hackers. This is precisely why they say "Choose your battles wisely"
@roliver779
Your post is one big contradiction. Stockholders want to make money, yet they are ok with sony doing nothing about their security which is costing them millions, billions.. I lost count, they are losing a heck of a lot of the "allmighty dollar".
You claim hackers are ignorant, yet you've said quite a few ignorant things yourself.
...If you invest in a company that says they can do a, b, and c and produce such and such a profit, you would be all for it. Now, if that company said that they are changing thier business plans becuase a bunch of hackers are happy, you would be pissed, especially if you lost money.
They DAMN WELL should change their stance, and that's what I would be expecting. Did they invest to make money? I highly doubt that anybody is investing in sony so that sony can prove they're the biggest egomaniacs in the world. LOL! you give the worst business advice ever, you're seriously suggesting that a company ignore a threat and keep to their ways even if following your brilliant plan is bleeding the company dry.
These hackers are ignorant. They don't understand that when they hurt a company, they take money from people like you and me. The funny thing is, if it was thier company, they would run it the way they wanted and wouldn't dare change for a bunch of hackers who hide behind thier computers.

Maybe they wouldn't change for hackers... but then again they would probably actually have tech-ie people design their security... instead of relying on lawyers to scare hackers away... how the hell do they expect that to work?
LOL! seriously, you show precisely what the problem with sony is... it's like you're one of their executives, great job there sir... I'm thoroughly enjoying the show all the idiots running sony have put on.
Lastly, this kids probably don't have that much money to make any changes, so they have to use the tools at their disposal, but you wouldn't understand that since you don't believe in change or adaptation... I wonder what Charles Darwin would think of your disdain for change.

taking money away from you and me?..... i dunno about you, but i havnt lost a cent!
I truly doubt you have had any direct OR indirect financial loss from this, or any sony hacks, other than lack of PSN access (which, ZERO reports of fraud directly linked to the psn hack has been reported).
yah, we're all really suffering and losing here. my wallet is so sore from all of this.............

Other companies which are hacked are hacked for REASONS, not for fun, like Sony is. Its important in the internet world to brag about this, apparently, rather than extract useful information SONY has on itself (upcoming devices, software sources, decrypted updates, schematics, whatever)- they rather piss off the people who buy sony products, and likely ruin their lives by leaking their info, which for all we know could be obtained from ANY site, thrown into a CSV script and uploaded.
Also other companies actually setup a secure network- by likely the same group of engineers or whatever. Sony seems to just setup sites and add them to their network, so security levels differ across sites. Some sites are likely secure, with current software and features enabled - while the counterpart site for a different country, hasn't been updated in 3-20 years. Security is a viewpoint anyway... Nothing is secure, but as long as we can make breaking that wall down harder and last longer than the use of that product we are OK... Hence the signing keys will be found - but in 2143 who is going to care?
Once in any network bugs, backdoors and more can be remotely installed to keep the hole open.. If they are a true hacker, these may never be found unless the sever is completely rebuilt....

When is the last time sony released a device that wasnt leaked way before it was announced? psp2, ps phone... sony is like the worst company ever for keeping secrets. They are so bad, people actually believe its them who leak the info just to go viral about products.
If hackers got that info, Sony would just say "we dont comment on rumors" (which 9 out of 10 times means the device does exist.)
Half the sites covering it would claim fake anyways. Hell sony cant even keep things like price cuts secret.
So hackers releasing future product info would probably help sony as it would make a rumored product viral.
ex: her look its a psp2. Sony we are not making a psp 2. Then a month later sony announced NGP. Everyone in the world gets used to calling it NGP until they can name it vita because NGP makes no sense. But it helps sony because people stopped calling it psp2 meaning psp keeps selling and they dont associate the failures from psp to be passed on the next NGP or vita. But the hole time it keeps people talking about this new product, instead of killing of the psp and hurting sales there.
