Brink is a class based, objective based fps with a unique parkour style added. The game is mostly multi-player however the game can be played solo with bots. There is a campaign mode from which you select between two factions allows you play through a story style mode with cut scenes. By playing through the campaign mode you can receive a lot of unlockables. There is a also a challenge mode which adds even more unlockables that are only obtained via challenge mode. Lastly there is a free play mode to round of the game modes.

Character customisation

These options are bountiful from the start of the game. Once you start unlocking extras the depth of customising increases vastly including things like body size, hair, clothing, and even the weapons. There are a lot of options for clothes shirts, jackets, pants and head gear. All of them also have colour options to add even more depth to the customising.

Weapons

Again there are very large selection of weapons different body types define the weapons you can use. The larger the body type you select the more options of weapons you can use. Since the lightest body type has a smaller selection of weapons they receive an added bonus to the unique parkour part of the gameplay, making them ideal for moving very quick. All the weapons have different stats and handle differently. As a result you can completely customise your weapon load out.

Classes
There are a few types of class including soldier, medic, engineer and operative. All have these classes can be customised again with extra skills which are unlocked as you play. There is also a shared set of abilities that carry to all classes. While playing the game you can swap your class and weapon load out during the maps at command posts. This is sometimes necessary due to the objectives changing through the different maps.

Gameplay

The game is very fast and frantic as you play and the maps vary a lot from close combat style maps to longer more open maps, also the maps in which the parkour is an advantage varies some maps are great to take advantage of it while others you won't really get the chance to use it.

At the start of each map you get a voice over and a cut scene which adds context to each map. This effectively gives you a story element to the objectives for the maps your about to play, this seems to be rarely used in multi-palyer game and I find a very welcome addition.

As I mentioned earlier different classes will achieve different objectives during the game. These objectives can be selected from your own in game hud so your not stuck with doing just one thing. Also while playing the different classes you will notice that you can provide different buffs or extra ammo to your team mates. Since all players can take a fair bit of damage before dying it encourages a more team based tactical gameplay again another very welcome addition for me. While you are playing you will also notice that you receive xp which will help you unlock extra abilities as mentioned above.

Graphic and Sound

The art style in the game I find to be very nice and as a result works fantastic for the type of game it is. The sound is great as you would expect like most fps games.

Closing Thoughts

My advice to most people would be to buy it I think its a great multi-player game. For the rest I would say give it a try if you get the chance you might just like it.
