It been a long hard month of making this re-launch go as smooth as possible, we stamped out all the Glitch's (we hope!)

And added a nice professional new interface that been branded just for all our loyal fans from many years to enjoy viewing and using!

can we get some 3ds loving beyond just tacking it onto the title of the nds forum because it'll get lost in the nds section once flashcards are out or new firmwares for 3ds / ds flashcarts become available also gaming discussion, friend codes and other such stuff need a place of their own.

i know its a desert but the NGC section could also do to be retitled to either gamecube or if sticking to letters at least to GCN as that was its designation.

since there is lots of news for it maybe a vita section in preparation for its release too.


any chance those ads can be redirected to open in a new tab / window instead of dropping mc and replacing it, ok i know that not many people will click adverts but on the odd chance they do its better to not take them away from this site.

Yeah, it needs to be darken in a few areas, I am working on it, one step at a time.

Well it was either me, or let this site fall into the wrong hands, that psx-scene, psgroove, and now even dashhacks has fallen into.

Thankfully the powers were on my side, and we (me and maxconsole's loyal fans) are going to make this site rock the world again.

Well don't know why you calling it MaxConsole v1.0 -- I personally think the front page is very well designed, but we open to your suggestions on how to improve it, if you see any major problems, just PM me the details and I will look into the matter more and inform our web designer staff. -- As for XSS and the search box, we are in the progress of updating the VB core, so it will not be a problem shortly!

logging in is an issue, on the homepage there is no login and no "hello, username" and no account / messages access, go into the forum and even if you are logged in it says you aren't, it only shows you as logged in and only tells you if you have a pm once you open a forum thread which is two levels too deep, the login / hello and account access / messaging etc needs to be at the top of every page starting with the homepage.

It's mainly a reference to the web technologies used (2.0 in the field generally refers to application type sites with a heavy emphasis on ajax and interaction). The new design is nice and thanks for fixing the XSS issue already, that was quick :)!

Small security checks,
extended the cache system for month top, most liked, most unliked sites ...
Also created a cache for search requests, 4 hours turnus to waste cached searches etc !

Also added some generic gfx for sharing via FB and G+ , so you have some custom icon when you share maxconsole there !

More stuff coming ...

Hows the speed at the moment ? I mean VB seems to be okay, but how´s about the news in general ...

Issue #5 - Some profile pictures could not be read from SQL when moving them out the database to be stored as files on the server.

Solution, just upload it again. -- Reason for the change, much faster to have them grabbed from HDD server cache, instead of doing an SQL database query.

Issue #6 - Threads older then 2 years have been archived, at the moment non-accessable, so any thread you started more then 2 years ago will not appeared.

My bad at 10pm I started the newsletter and it was running great got to 75,000 and the server crash from the high load if people rejoining the site after getting the email so I slowed it down and then I noticed it just kept looping the first 1,000 to 5,000 it was not remembering it already did the first 75 000 , so now 3am, tried of trying solve until later, rest first and then some morning coffee!

Site is very mobile unfriendly if you ask me. Pretty slow with all these big not-optimized-for-mobile images etc.

I am indeed talking about a certain skin.
The kind that recognizes it when you are browsing the site on a mobile device, so it can switch to a simple mobile view.
For example WordPress has a very good mobile layout, I think I've seen an even better one but I can't remember what site it was...

@Xeongears I think you're referring to tabs. This is best handled by the user, use your middle mouse button or hold CTRL when you click a link. Opening a link in a new tab (target="_blank") while on the same domain is bad behaviour.

Yep, I going to start pushing out slowly some 'hacking' news, similar what I been doing on my crunch sites (ps3crunch.net and 360crunch.com)

@Xeongears I think you're referring to tabs. This is best handled by the user, use your middle mouse button or hold CTRL when you click a link. Opening a link in a new tab (target="_blank") while on the same domain is bad behaviour.

I can reply fine using my iPhone, sadly my Samsung tablet got stolen so don't have any Android browser to test at the moment. -- I going to have to hunt around for my converted pandigital e-reader into android, it is slow but works great for testing stuff.

Here's a workaround for those that experience the problem that I have been having, which is that you cannot type in anything in a text box:

1. Click on Settings on the Profile Management bar in the top-right hand corner of this forum
2. Go to General Settings.
3. Go to Miscellaneous Settings and in that section of the General Settings page, go to the Message Editor Interface, and choose either the Basic Interface, or the Standard Interface, as the full-blown What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get Interface is not fully compatible with some browsers.
4. Save the settings and get outta there.

Sadly that is feature of the new vbulletin, and there is no way to make it compatible with mobile browsers, a problem tons of people have complained on all vb-powered forum sites since they pushed this new feature into it, which they happen to do at the same time they pushed in their mobile API interface, so I think it was on purpose to force forum owners to buy the extra 'mobile features' and cough out the greenbacks called 'money' to get the custom APP approved for their forum.

I always disable the new WYSIWYGI as it is royal pain-in-the-ass.

Only noticed that now unfortunately (silly me) - also, that's the corporate mentality for you - they force things/features on you so that you end up spending more than what is necessary for your requirements - god damn unethical profiteering!

In fact it is 'Internet Brands' now, the original company is long gone, got takeover over by a big america company, they keep some of the original staff, but not many and most have gone over to XenForo now another forum product, that originally 'Internet Brands' tried to stop from being released, as they say the old employees had ideas and code in their heads which was not theirs any more as they been sold and takeover over.

Any CSS Guru's interested in styling a mobile site? The method of frontend coding for the current site suggests that a mobile layout may not happen; however, JavaScript is fast enough on webkit browsers that some fancy user scripts can be run - and if stable enough, perhaps it could become an official MaxConsole script.

I made a quick userscript (and tested with greasemonkey on a desktop browser) which you can find here: http://pastebin.com/xnPinNpq - it doesn't do individual article parsing at the moment, but that's easy enough to add if someone could do some frontend work.
