But the news is not perfect, it seems Nintendo has made an exclusive deal with Gamestop and the game will only be available thru Nintendo or Gamestop at $49.99 with pre-orders until Dec. 19th, 2011

Yes, its finally happening, Nintendo of America has confirmed that the much requested game 'Xenoblade Chronicles' is coming to the US region on 2nd April 2012, with pre-orders up until 19th Dec. 2011.

However all is not sweetness and light, the game will only be available to buy either directly from Nintendo (at full retail) or from Gamestop (at full retail) by limiting the game to a single retailer it gives them complete control over the market price!

At last american gamers will get the chance to play this fantastic game, now how about Nintendo releasing 'Fatal Frame 4', 'Last Story' and 'Pandoras Tower' in the USA?

just one thing, you dont have to pre order before that date, you can pre order anytime from gamestop but only from nintendo AFTER the 19th dec.

any american rpg fans would be insane not to buy this (and a wii if they dont have one) not only because its a fantastic game, by far the best of the series and at least equal to the original but also because if this sells well then you might get at least some of the other "missing" games that are coming to europe already (ff4, pandoras tower and last story).

I cannot believe wii owners have not hacked their wii to play the european version.

however its instances like these which shocks me as to how stupid the gaming industry is. they could have easily brought this to the usa long time ago. wonder what sort of silly red tape was in the way before which is not there now.

For those that a), modded their Wiis, or b) used the Dolphin Emulator, it would be just be "meh, I already got the game", but for those that haven't done so, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, GET THAT GAME!

Yes, most gamers love to play Crap on Duty 24761247615264752641527474675645764516752612476262 76246721627612: Different Game, Same Old Hard-On-Inducing Sh!t: and/or Brownfield 634532164576476545216727465127216426: Boner Edition (or other samey nonsense, and then they ignore great games that are worthy of attention) (don't get me wrong: some people enjoy those games and that's fine, but playing games that are samey in nature at the expense of playing other, different/innovative games is usually problematic), which kind of makes me sad.

Also, the possible reasons as to why they haven't grabbed the European copy of the game could be:

- I don't know how to mod my console
- Modding is for warez-masturbating jerkoffs (the usual moral-crusading bullcrap you hear in a CERTAIN gaming scene)
- Cost of distributing and paying for the European copy of the game (piracy usually works around that solution, but then point 2 rules that option out)
