Nintendo is trying to plan the starting-price better for Wii-U launch, so they don't have to drop the price shortly afterwards!

Learn from your previous 'launch' mistakes. That is the current 'mission statement' from the top brass over at Nintendo with the up-coming Wii-U launch, not to have the same slow 3DS sales problems!

Nintendo wants to avoid having the same price issues with the Wii U launch as they did originally with the 3DS launch.

Making the same mistake of what they did before with the 3DS would be total suicide in the media and with their loyal fans.

Recently Nintendo's president make statements that it looks like they are going to learn from their past mistakes but the big question is, will they infact price it at point that everyone will be grabbing them left, right and center once it launches, or will be sitting on the shelf waiting again for the first big price cut like what happen with the 3DS launch!

Nintendo of America's president, Reggie Fils-Aime, declared:

"We had to go back and reduce the price of 3DS and we certainly don't want to go through that when we launch Wii U."

They say that when a dog burns itself on a flame, it'll never happen again.

Let's hope Nintendo knows what they're doing this time around and makes the Wii U a success.

I still think its going to launch at around 300 dollars, Any more is too expensive, any less I doubt its possible. That controller looks like its going to run about 100 bucks itself.

Unless Nintendo has changed its stance on not taking a loss on hardware? If so then they probably will launch at 250 like the Wii did.

Picking quite well now.

Im gonna go for a £250 price point, which is still the price you pay for a high end 360 or ps3. Cant see Nintendo been able to do it for any cheaper than that, but if they do then thats a defo buy for me!!

I keep flip flopping, one day I think "Oh I'm gonna buy the Wii-U launch day like I did the Wii." The next day I'm thinking "This generation pissed me off so bad, I am going to wait until I see enough games on one system or another before I buy..."

I know in the end I will probably buy a Wii-U on launch day since I hate waiting for anything...

I just pray the next gen is not just the next set of FPS boxes.

And I pray that the next generation isn't full of retarded crap and lame excuses for gimping on PC gaming.

However, the Wii has to be my favourite gaming system this generation even though I got a PS3 (believe it or not).

(There isn't a game out I can't play.) I may build a new PC soon, but usually I only build when something comes out my current machine can't play, and by the looks of things that might be a while longer.Right now I have been playing more on the Wii then the PS3 myself. Kind of thinking my PS3 was a waste of money. None of the games I wanted to come out for it have been made.

whilstever console gamers are acting like retarded assholes and taking every new rip off up the arse as if its nectar from the gods the greedy scum who publish games are going to continue to churn out rubbish on consoles and port that rubbish to the pc, this gen its been only nintendo that hasnt happened with but next gen i'm afraid even they are moving towards the dark side with all this dlc crap so expect at least another 5 years of crappy pc ports, with luck the console industry will implode on itself under the weight of its own greed and be reborn again as something separate from the pc gaming industry going back to its roots of buy, own, play and leave patches, downloads and installs to the pc.
