You'll get a 10% discount if you buy the game in digital form

So, Vita downloable games will be cheaper than the retail releases, but only for 10 percent less. Will that be enough?

Sony has confirmed that games offered in digital form (on the PSN) will be cheaper than their retail counterparts. Well, it's only a 10% discount, but hey, it's a good start.

For those wondering if PlayStation Vita owners in the US will get a discounted price for purchasing the digital releases of their games as compared to boxed retail copies (as in Japan), it looks as though that may indeed be the case. An intrepid Destructoid reader was browsing through their local Best Buy store and snapped up some shots of company computers listing the digital versions upcoming Vita titles Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Little Deviants, Modnation Racers, Hotshots Golf and Escape Plan as being priced 10% below the physical copy.

Sony previously said that every retail Vita game will get a downloadable version as well, so this is a great way to start the service.

The question is... will that be enough? Japanese downloadable games are about $10 USD cheaper than their retail counterparts, but seems that, at least in North America, the 10% discount it's only about USD$5, as shown in the picture below.

But, most likely, games will be getting a lot more cheaper over time, so this is definitely a great option!

wow, save $5 but pay out $40 for a memory card to store it on without any possibility of being able to trade it in, sell it on, swap it, lend it or do anything else we would normally do with a game.

why not just wait a week or so and buy it new at retail for less?

Anymore I have got to the point where I will wait until it hits the price I want to pay for it or even less.

It sounds more confusing then it is lol My back catalog is so backed up :(

I tried Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles last night, was amazing for a light gun game. Camera was a little wonky at time but I think thats common with games on rails. Supposed to add to the suspense or something. Managed to play for nearly 45 minutes before I was forced to get back to work... lol

After thinking about it for a while, digital downloads only make sense to me if they cost like 5-10$ at most. Any more then that and I need a physical game.
