According to a Twitter post, Sakurai has finally started to work directly on the new Smash Bros game due to a release on Wii U and 3DS, as he just finished Kid Icarus.
Masahiro Sakurai best known for being the creator of Kirby and the Super Smash Bros. game series, has said that he just started to work on the next SSB entry for Wii U and 3DS, now that he finished the Kid Icarus: Uprising development.
The game was announced at E3 last year, but he always commented that the game development wouldn't start until the new Kid Icarus game was finished. Remember, Sakurai is now working in his new studio Sora Ltd.
He commented on Twitter that, as part of his research for the new game, he's taking notes from the official SMB site 'Smash Bros Dojo' and he will also gather developers to discuss the next game.
The director seemed pleased with his work on the Wii Smash Bros game, tweeting: "It's tremendous. How did we make this?"
However, Sakurai didn't reveal any more information about the new Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS games. So all we know is that he's starting to work on the games which, as Nintendo President Satoru Iwata revealed at E3, will work together in some way.
No more details were given, this game is still at a very early development stage, but let's hope we can see at least a new trailer at this year E3!
