Japanese eShop is receiving the classic Metroid game from NES era on february 29th. Europe and US release not scheduled yet

Retro-game lovers, this one is for you. Nintendo has announced that Metroid, the classic NES game (Famicon in Japan) will be arriving at the Japanese 3DS eShop on February 29th costing 500 yen but free for those who are in the Ambassador program.

As for now, no release date for European or North American eShops.

According to Adriasang:



Next in line for 3DS retro gamers is Metroid. Nintendo announced today that the classic NES/Famicom title will be released on February 29, priced ¥500.

If you were an early 3DS adopter, you got Metroid as part of the Ambassador freebie program.

This is one of those games hat has held up really well, its still fun to play in an emulator that supports save states (the pass code system sucked.)

Thats a good question, does the 3DS shop version support save states or some sort of saving?
