Angry Birds creators launching a new game IP soon.

After their extremely successful Angry Birds franchise, Rovio is planning to release a new game not related to it, in the upcoming months.

Angry Birds has been an extremely successful franchise, and Finnish game developers Rovio probably are now worth at least in the billion range of dollars.

Well, looks like they think it's time for them, to launch a new game IP not related to AB.

Rovio is worth a bazillion dollars from their bird flinging physics title Angry Birds, and they've got a new sequel coming, but they're also working on a new IP that they'll release in a couple of months. Aside from this being a non-Angry Birds title, no other details were given.

Rovio CEO Mikael Hed told AllThingsD that they're looking to branch out into merchandising, animation and other areas. "If everything we did was just about mobile games Id be more worried, he said.

Currentlly, no details were available at press time, but most likely it will start as a mobile game. Most of you don't know, but Rovio has released a large number of mobile games not related to Angry Birds in the past, and some of them were pretty good, like their Darkest Fear game series.

It's going to be pretty interesting to see what they are planning.
