EA has permanently abandoned fixing free-to-play iOS multiplayer shooter Battlefield 3: Aftershock.
Some time ago (http://portal.maxconsole.net/cgi-bin/maxconsole/rknewz.pl?function=rate&rate=positive&id=RKLS0000002975&cat=IOS), the Battlefield 3: Aftershock free game was dropped out the App Store due to bugs and customer's complaints. EA said that the game will be under revision to correct the bugs and provide a better experience when it were uploaded again. Sadly, EA today's announcement is that they have decided to suspended the game permanently and focus on other titles.
Here is what we can read in TheVerge:
Earlier this month, Electronic Arts released Battlefield 3: Aftershock, an iOS spin-off to the publisher's popular shooter franchise. The game was quickly overwhelmed with negative reviews and complaints from those who downloaded it, with issues ranging from connection problems to unusable controls.
Based on the reaction, EA decided to pull the game from the iOS App Store on February 22. That same day, they released the following statement: "EA Mobile is committed to delivering mobile entertainment experiences that are on par with the content and quality users have come to expect from their favorite EA gaming brands. To this end, we have decided to remove Battlefield 3: Aftershock from the App Store and are currently re-evaluating the app in response to the consumer feedback we've received. We thank all the fans who have downloaded the game to date."
The fate of the game remained a mystery until today. An EA representative reached out to Vox Games with a response on whether Battlefield 3: Aftershock would return to the App Store.
"In the interest of bringing consumers only the highest level of quality mobile entertainment, EA Mobile has decided to suspend development and support of Battlefield 3: Aftershock and refocus its resources on other titles. The Aftershock servers will be live through March 31st, 2012, and customers who have already downloaded the game can continue to play until then."
This gives fans just one month to try the game before it's shut down for good. Given that the game was free to begin with, no refunds will be offered. Sorry, your time is not refundable.
