Another DLC-on-disc story to tell

Capcom talks about banning all those people who are using the hacked DLC content before its official release

As you should now, upcoming DLC for Street Fighter X Tekken is one of those that is already built on the disc and you have to pay for unlocking it.

Several hackers, have managed to unlock the unreleased-yet content for free and were spotted using the new characters online.

Capcom noticed and now they said that they are in talks with Microsoft to ban all the consoles and accounts that used this trick.

Check out this Q&A on the official Capcom Unity Boards:

Did you see that hackers were using the DLC in Street Fighter X Tekken to play the twelve new characters online ahead of their release?

Svensson: Yes, we're seeing news of this. Quite ballsy for folks to be taking hacked Xbox 360s on Live where they are detectable.

In any event, we already have opened channels of communication with Microsoft on these issues Friday night. If you can capture screens or video of this in action (as some have already) we're working on bans for boxes and accounts with Microsoft for haxxors.

I'll leave this thread open for people to post pics/vids and the like and we'll bring them to MS (as we have the last three that were reported to us).

What do you think?

Maybe Capcom should be banned from the video game industry for using an unfair (some would call greedy, unethical) sales strategy.

DLC on disc is total BS..... because its technically not DLC. Just restricted content on the disc which can only be unlocked by paying more for something which should of been included into the initial price tag. How dare they use the limited space on a DVD to fill it with extra paid content, instead of filling up the disc to the max with non DLC content.

What ever happened to unlocked secret characters for completing different objectives and goals in the game??? When did that game model fly out the door?

In any case... buy your games people. It's not worth loosing your account for one stupid DLC.

Aye capcom should get a slap for making what would have been at worst unlockable by reaching certain ingame criteria into locked away content, that has to be paid for when they need a cash in. Should be no suprise when Scamco and Crapcom publish a joint project, Imagine if Extreme A*seholes were involved as well, another half of the roster would be locked way so that you would have to be online to access them, and have to pay to do it if you bought the game second hand.
