Using a custom .apk file from an Android device

Some folks have prepared a custom APK for Android phones to get an impressive Dropbox 23GB extra storage

Just for you to know that is it possible, you must also understand that the whole legality of this method is NOT fully understood and Dropbox might consider it a violation of their ToS and MAY terminate your account, so proceed at your OWN RISK, or instead you can follow this other guide for getting 5GB (http://www.redmondpie.com/how-to-instantly-get-5gb-of-free-space-on-dropbox-using-its-latest-beta-release-for-windows-tutorial/) the completely legal-way.

If you are fully aware of the all the RISKS involved in doing so and still want to get the hugh amount of 23GB of storage space after all, then you can follow these simple steps below courtesy of RedmondPie:

Step 1: If you already have Dropbox installed on your Android device, you must Clear data, Force close and finally uninstall it from Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Dropbox.

Step 2: Download and install the Dropbox+23GB APK [Dropbox Link (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/36747826/android apps/Dropbox_23GB_S4_v2_theos0o.apk)]. Be sure to enable Unknown sources under Settings > Applications or Settings > Security (on ICS) before installing the APK!

Step 3: Launch the app as usual and log in.

Step 4: Wait for the confirmation email.

The confirmation email can take up to 30 minutes to arrive, so please be patient. Once you get it, you may uninstall the XDA version of the Dropbox APK and install a fresh build from Google Play.

If you followed the steps correctly, you will have now a whopping 23GB of extra space in your Dropbox. Sadly, this space will only be with you for two years, after which it will be taken away (after being prompted by Dropbox, I assume), so be sure to mark your calendars after getting the free space!

If you do decide to try this and it works, let us know the results, good or bad, etc.!!

Remember also if it does work, it is only good for TWO years, after that kiss your files goodbye for some unknown reason!!

Box.com is offering 50gb free for life if you log in from an android device, though I think that's only for this week. You could also get (not sure if you still can) get 50gb when you logged in from an LG device, and there was also an apk to help you with that (that's how I got my 50gb).
