Nintendo have updated its Nintendo DSi system to fight against piracy... again.

Nintendo has launched a new update for Nintendo DSi, it's 1.4.4 version in Europe and US, and 1.4.5C version in China.

This update only updates the Nintendo DSi Camera but it's supposed to block flashcards also, so... if you have updated your DSi let us know if your flashcard has been blocked or not. If you haven't updated your system yet, you'd better wait a bit to know if this update blocks the flashcards or not.

Reports are so far that the following 'flashcards' have been blocked by this update:

R4I GOLD 3DS (r4ids.cn)
R4I GOLD PLUS (r4ids.com)
R4I SDHC 3DS (r4i-sdhc.com)
R4I SDHC V1.4.3 (r4i-sdhc.com)
R4ITT black/purple (r4itt.net)
R4I-GOLD 3DS (r4i-gold.com)
R4ISDHC V2.20t (r4sdhc.com)
TTi (ndstt.net)
Acekard 2i (acekard.com)
DSTWO (supercard.sc)
DSONEi mini (supercard.sc)

With for some weird reason that the flashcard 'EZ Flash Vi' is still working with no problems after this update.

Sir,

I have encountered a problem with my Nintendo DSi, when I try to connect to the internet the first screen ask me to update the system so a click update then after the update was successful and I turn on again my Nintendo DSi and load the sponge bob icon...I encountered an error and it says "An error has occurred. Press and hold the POWER button to turn the system off. Please refer to the Nintendo DSi Operations Manual for details.", and base here in your thread sir it is too late for me because I haven't read this thread before I try to connect to the internet...and your thread stated there that it will block the flashcard after the update...:( and unfortunately I am one of those who are having blocked flashcard, my flashcard is R4i 3D (w/ label "new").

Please sir help me how to fix this problem.

Your help is highly needed and so much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

you need to go to the flashcard makers website and if available download the update files for your flashcard then follow their instructions to update the card, if however you bought one of the many non upgradeable flashcards you'll need to buy a new one, but this time buy something better, its not as if they cost a lot, you can get an acekard 2 i for under $7 (often under $5).

ok, most flashcards can only be updated on a non updated system or a ds / ds lite (or their i-que equivalents in china) i know with mine i have to either update the flashcard before i accept the firmware update or i have to dig out my old ds and update using that.
