Wololo has unveiled on his blog the game title that can again exploit the handheld

Wololo has written a cute letter to Sony which explains that the game with the latest exploit has been found for the Playstation Vita and it is Everybody's Tennis.

Thanks to the Spanish developer Wololo, we now know which game to grab to be able to exploit the Playstation Vita handheld, and that game is Everybody's Tennis. So if you don't have this game you'd better hurry up and purchase it before Sony deletes the game from the PS Store.

Wololo has written a very nice letter to Sony that explains Everybody's Tennis is the game with the open exploit pathway.

The full letter below:

Dear Sony, it has come to my attention that one of the PSP games available on the playstation Vita has a vulnerability that could lead to the execution of external code by some malicious users.

Therefore I am writing this blog post so that you can patch the game or remove it from the PSN store as soon as possible. Preferably, I suggest you take the money from your clients first, and prevent them from downloading the game afterwards, just like you did with Motorstorm Arctic Edge, 3 weeks ago. This way it will be a win-win situation for you, and you can always blame it on the hackers later on.

As a matter of fact, I have discovered that some “hackers” (I prefer to call them terrorists) have already prepared a tool wich, using this vulnerability, could allow people to run software that would be extremely dangerous for your business, such as 20 year-old 8 bit games and 154 different versions of pong.

I think this puts your business at risk, and I’ve tried to stop those vilains by all means necessary, but sadly it seems they are not breaking any law. Hopefully, giving you the name of the game will help you to take some efficient action. Those people are clearly wrong in their mind to try to play crappy open source software, when they could enjoy a great game such as Ridge Racer for less than 10$ a track, (which is clearly not a ripoff compared to the price one would have to pay in the real world to drive cars that completely defy the laws of physics. Although on that subject I woud like if you could help me, as my version of the game seems to be blocked in “demo mode” for some reason. All the 5 cars have exactly the same specs, so surely there’s something I’ve done wrong somewhere.)

I digress. The name of the game is Everybody’s Tennis. It is also known as Minna no tennis in Japan. Thankfully the game is not available on the US Vita store, so this should limit the problems on your end. I heard however that these hackers have prepared a US version of the hack just in case that version is being sold somewhere such as the HK store. I also heard people can buy the UK version from the US if they buy some PSN cards from resellers on ebay and other sites. If I may give some advice, I think this is not secure enough. True, you did a good job in preventing people from buying games outside of the country they live in (and being a French living in Japan, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the fact that I can’t buy any game on the French PSN, this is exactly how globalization should work, and it helps me sparing lots of money by not buying any game), but I think in order to avoid future hacks, you should simply prevent everyone from buying games on the PSN, which will guarantee you a complete control of the market.

The hackers also announced they would release their hack a few hours or days after they announce the name of the game being used. They claim this only allows people to run “homebrew” games and that in no way it allows people to play pirated PSP or vita games, but I think this is not an excuse to hack.

I realize it is saturday evening for your teams in Europe, and Sunday morning in Japan. I hope you will not have to wake some people in the middle of the night just to take action, I would have chosen a better time, but I myself have very little time to blog outside of weekends.

Hoping that working together we will be able to stop hackers. I seem to be one of the few people on Earth who understand that the real enemies of the Vita are not your poor marketing techniques, the terrible software such as the “back to the 90′s” netfront browser, the bad launch lineup, the delays on the playstation suite, the recent downgrade from 5 to 2 allowed copies of any given psn game, and the increasing competition of smartphones that all have better CPUs than the Vita. No, the real enemies are those people playing Lamecraft, who are clearly killing the videogame market, so let’s destroy them together.

Please pay extra attention to the dev known as wth, who apparently is behind this whole thing, as well as Teck4 who apparently helped him for the Japanese version of the hack. I also heard that somes guys named mamosuke and msparky83 were involved in the testing. It would be good if you have a way to maybe track these guys’ phones or something. Or maybe you can simply sue them, I heard it’s something you do very well.

Yours truly, W. Ololo

yea this guy deserves a statue somewhere, lets give him only one side of a statue, sure hacks can be used to run roms/emulators ect but fail to notice what else would be playable and like a rom is illegal if you dont own the orrigional (which you have to be stupid if you insist everyone in the world actually owns the orrigional game and doesnt just pirate it).

but this guy kinda sounds like that faggot egohot, any normal person would have just said look heres a flaw, no need to brag n rant about his one sided deluded "only customers have rights, companies have none" cr@p talk.

also i dont get why people kick off when they buy a console over the fact that a hack that stops them playing these "emulators" (not backuploaders) when erm isnt it the said console to play its games the reason they baught it.... hence my POV that i can bet a good 90% of those people b1tching are actually using "emulators" as an excuse to hide the fact they actually pirate.

as no console has to condone emulators, if they did theyd have to pay rights to the consoles game dev, but also i notice consoles these days are bringing these retro games onto their online stores, so you could buy them..... but back to my point, "emulators" you dont have to buy the rom, you can illegally download and BS on a forum that you "own" the orrigional game.

if people were like me, and simply admit that you do pirate, but unlike them, i dont b1tch when a console blocks the hacks, because i accept the fact that the console has every right to do so.

I have pirated, AND do. with that being said, only the stuff that I wouldn't have bought in the first place. i own 6 vita games already. at $20-30 a piece, it's reasonable for what it is.

I have an original PSP still. I played more SNES and NES on it than real PSP games. I never bothered with ISO loaders.... it's not like there was so many good psp games out monthly that I couldn't afford them all. I'd buy a few a year that deserved it.

The thing is, his sarcasm was aimed at the fact that sony is quick to place blame on others without accepting responsibility. (like the motorstorm fiasco).

as a console owner who bought in and adopted early, I would like to see more flexability from a device that has the capabilities to do so. Not to the point that the console is opened up to iso loaders/hacks - but why not allow more android style "open" development. as we've seen from the iOS appstore and Android Marketplace, both of those business models have THRIVED for the parent companies (apple/google/etc), and then of course the money made by the smaller devs that otherwise wouldn't have had the resources/money to develop for a larger platform (the licensing costs for 360/ps3 for example).

I would like to use the device I payed for as I see fit.

because this kind of openes will lead to hackers, lets take egohot with other os, people was happy and used it as it was intended.

*FACEPALM* great... just great.

Anyways, are you the fbi? are you loosing money because nintendo is not selling it's 999999999999999999999999999999999 copy of Super Mario World? The things that could be done with these hacks, can be good or bad, that depends on the person applying them and it's not your duty or right to strike them down from atop your moral high horse.

Anyways, I'm off to download illegal copies of all my legally owned PSN games which I just found out expire if you don't connect to the PSN, SEN, or whatever the nazis wanna call it.

but this is allways the case, people sit there and cry when hacks get blocked end of the day people need to stop been n00bs and accept the fact that no console is going to accept this.

depends on the person applying them, sure if i want to pirate (which i admit unlike many) yes its upto me, but i accept the responcibility of doing this, if the console then releases updates to prevent my hack then its myself to blame, but the fact is, its these hacks that then allow hackers to make it possible for me to do this, and this is what allways happens.

in your eyes i have a moral high horse..... or lets not be n00bs and think of it like this, im not going to cry everytime hacks get blocked, im not going to cry because my "vita" cant play megadrive roms... sorry i forgot its a "vita" i baught, i accept the fact that the second anyone can install emulators/"HOMEBREW" the consoles are then going to get homebrew that loads its games pirated. am i the only normal person that can see and understand that this is not good for any console regardless who makes it, and i agree they have every right to block and prevent any homebrew on its consoles.

would you leave your house wide open for people to take what they want?? no didnt think so, but hey in your world only you have rights dont you pmsl how lame....

no one complains seriously about hacks being blocked, they complain when genuine customers get arse ***** by sony in the name of piracy prevention because its cheaper to **** the customers and take what they bought than it is to fix the problem.

Oh I won't cry about anything sony do with the vita, I would truly only have myself to blame if I willingly become a member of the nazi party once again; nevertheless, that will not stop me from seeing the pure genious in everything the blogger pointed out.

As far as sony blocking hacks or not, don't have a problem, never have I had any since the days when I used to frequent PS2HDD (current psx-scene). Hacking the consoles wouldn't be as much fun if it was easy, not that I do any hacking work myself, but seems I'm pretty good at following directions. Now I do have a problem, and a big one at that, when they screw me over while on their holy crusade to stop terrorist (or as we call them hackers). I have purchased over $200 in crappy PSN games that I am know forced to pirate if I want to play, why? because sony in their infinite wisdom deemed that blocking PSN access to those under current f/w was smart... yeah tell that to all the guys who are dual booting current f/w and custom f/w on their ps3's.

Anyways, I'm don't fancy to continue down this road and have you become the next greenhammer/retroboy/etc so whatever you think, it's right. Just try to be more tolerant towards those of us that have very valid reasons to hate sony's antipiracy tactics.

... Come on billy, don't say that... nobody could be such a frigging HUGE loser to sign up to a forum 8 times. I mean seriously, is their anybody with such a pathetic existence out there? I tell you it's impossible billy, cause someone who would be so desperate for attention, and so eager to defend a faceless corporation would have committed suicide a long time ago... well that or he would have gotten his ass kicked and be in a coma.

After his greenhammer persona, I refuse to believe that the guy was such a loser, this guy must be some other sony fan.
