'True Blue' has released v2.7 dongle firmware!

The 'True Blue' team has updated to their dongle firmware to v2.7, besides adding more v4.xx game support,
it also will now inform the user if they are using a real or clone of the TB dongle.

True Blue dongle firmware v2.7 has been released.

Changes include:

True Blue dongle authenticity status displayed on PS3 XMB system information screen
Fixed yet another important game compatibility issue affecting recent 4.xx games

The authenticity status display can be used to determine if your True Blue dongle is either authentic or a clone.

How do I know if I have a TB clone?

Q: How can I verify that my True Blue is authentic and not a clone?

A: Install True Blue dongle firmware v2.7 or later.


Then in the PS3 XMB, navigate to Settings -> System Settings -> System Information. Next to the "System Software" version will be information relating to your True Blue dongle. If your dongle is authentic then it will display something like "True Blue v2.7" (this will vary depending on the version of the dongle firmware you have installed). If your dongle is a clone then it will display "True Blue CLONE" as shown in the following image:

I am confused though. Can the clone have 2.7 installed... I thought they had only been working up to 2.5
If the clones can go up to 2.7 does that mean they can use the last round of eboots?

Usually the eboot arrive 3 days after the release of a new firmware, and then theoretically speaking should arrive on Sunday evening as always, is not a theory and mathematics ;)

theres never a schedule, and even if TB team says eboots coming today, theyre probably not coming today :mad:

its extremely humorous though, to see how far people rage out against TB when these things happen. and how people who've raged in the past now tell the angry ones to settle down.

The biggest problem is that after two weeks from the last release of eboot, have released the firmware v2.7 to add only one thing to check if the dongle is a clone or original!
I find it a very useless in the sense that you are alive after two weeks by also saying that they had solved the problem of compatibility in games 4.xx and then that they do? They release another 'stupid' firmware release without even a eboot?
In the meantime spend their days, weeks, months, and we are not always here, waiting like rabbits without knowing nothing of how it works i'm cabbage of dongle, we know nothing of nothing, we are only puppets under the control of the people

No does not work with tb without the dongle inserted if you have firmware v2.7 because it has already the spoofer, you must reinstall a firmware as the v2.51 for it to work.
And however it is not nothing of incredible and only a spoofer who strangely enough, this time ago access the psn, but it is always a spoofer as all the others, the team rebug has not done anything in addition to this and I am sure that it is only a matter of hours before that sony may not notice

It has been confirmed that the spoofer works with tb cfw v2 when it isnt plugged in. (On boot)
You must uninstall before you turn it on with true blue plugged in.
although still other than syncing trophies not much else can be done...

i read somewhere that people were trying it with soul calibur 5 and dead island, games that require true blue. how's that possible?

ofcourse lots of games even ones that are maybe playable on 3.55
but may have 3.6+ updates meaning it wont work (online gameplay)
sometimes editing the sfo file may fix that but if it has new files (eboot etc...)probably wont then...


true blue its impossibile (on 2.7) because it would hang on boot
but on 2.5 or lower dongle fw it probably should work

(spoofer does work on cfw v2 without dongle but then your only able to sync trophies use old psn content & psn)

i have an original US 2006 model thats red ringed but fixing it this weekend (hopefully). I just have no idea where to start once its fixed.
All my other consoles ive hacked I started at the ground level, so it was easy to follow through.

I was sort of the same had everything modded except for xbox 360 which i got ixtreme not too long ago (about a month ago) and now im getting rgh on it today

Luckily I found a guy who modded my console lives quite close so it was easy enough
xbox 360 scene is just in a more secure position because its always updated when needed

My tips are:
Find someone who can mod your console (someone you could trust)
If your not interested in xbox live then go with rgh + ixtreme (or even just rgh)
If you are then go for ixtreme or xbox360key or similiar

Pity that true blue hasn't never done any other game patched updates since skyrim...
because have all batman ac dlc except for harley's quinn revenge
and there's many other games that have important dlc but needs updates...

You have not yet realized that the delay of the eboot is caused by the fact that they are always more difficult to patch, take patience and you should be aware for a good time of the difficulties that they face each time to make everybody happy! Damnation if they were all as tonia who complain about every day i think that the true blue would mandate to make fucking all!

they're #1 concern is profit. they release big batches of eboots after long periods of nothing for a reason that no one knows... or ever will know, but I can promise you this... its not for YOUR benefit. its for THEIR benefit.

besides, people like tonia wouldnt ask every day if we were given some news once in a while as to what was going on. or they released even 1 eboot every week.

which is why i say (and gary said previously) that 2.8 will probably come first.I told you before, you forgot when the jb-king has broken the v2.50, then everyone thought TB released a new firmware before releasing the eboot, and that was not, have launched before new eboot and then after a few days ago weeks have done a new firmware, And some eboot that had released in fact gave problems on the clone, freeze, clearing the data of the hdd, which then have solved with the firmware v2.51 secret that was mounted on the new dongle but not announced by the team, who have then but only for those who had purchased the dongle into precedence. This means that they can also provide for the security codes in eboot that have dangerous side effects against the clones is not necessary to release to force a new firmware, also because they have already released 2 in two weeks and don't think they were just so much to make them,
For sure have already taken the right precautions for the Upcoming releases, it's not like i'm stupid they have everything under control and are very clever, always have an ace in the sleeve

remember, the eboots waiting to be released were originally created for fw2.6... but then they ran into issues and made 2.7. no eboots have been released for 2.7. everyone knows that 2.7 will now be cracked fully in a matter of time. so either they have to go back in to all the eboots and add more code to make them cause errors in 2.7... which is pointless, because that can obviously be fixed. or they can make 2.8 and fix the eboots there with better security and hope that the clones cant go to 2.8 thus making the eboots safe from clones.

perhaps these are the only fully tested 2 or they just wanted to release a couple so people who were angry still knew they were alive and now they work on 2.8 then release more.

I am also happy because after 3 weeks, at least they came back with one of the best fix, imagine if dropping a fix of a game bad, how would you have taken?

Nope, it is called the SDAT 4.0 protection system from Sony.

Previously the SDAT was only 2.7.0 and easy to unpack, simple algo.

SDAT is a file containing many of the shaders, sounds, and other texture data, compressed together, normally the part that gets installed on your PS3 HDD.

There been a series of people making MODS on games using this file, since the algo. on how it was packed and encrypted was published, and legit game developers are more worried about MODS then PIRACY, so after much discussion, Sony agreed to encrypt this package with later random (not #4 as a seed) keys called SDAT 4.0 which started to appear in more recent games, part of the reason for the delay in eboots, and for recent TB firmware updates.

Sadly, some games this file can be huge, the biggest I see is over 5gb like in the FIFA games, so that means in the future some patchs will be super-big as the whole SDAT file has to be included, not just the EBOOTs and SPRXs like before.

If you blame someone, blame those script kiddies on forums making mods for COD, GTA, etc. and releasing them, in the future it might get worse every file on the BD-ROM disc encrypted with newer random key contained in the firmware.

7 releases this week is pretty darn good, considering the selection too.

Yes, but the games ugly in my opinion not worth to fix so much at the end if we do not play none and only wasted time, i would say that great games that they must do are resident evil, silent hill hd collecton, Starhawk, Sorcery, naruto, and perhaps even Ridge Racer Unbound.
All the other does not serve at least for me, but my favorite that I am missing in the list and only resident evil, we hope they will do so as soon as possible....

e3 have made eboots that dont need any dongle so if they can do it i'm sure that others will find out how and then tb will vanish as there wont be any more profits to be made, too many of the ps3 dongle makers do that.

Well e3 team has already released 2 drm free patches + 1 update patch
so they've already shown what they can do
although i wonder if they'll add any other feature for the dongle which they're making

only time will tell

although true blue must improve if they still want to be #1

well, itll take E3 months to proplerly develop their own DRM, make the dongle, and endlessly test. also need to make DRM eboots, probably ones that dont work with true blue.
True blue will probably just sit and wait to see what happens, and not risk making more eboots for someone elses dongle to use them. once E3's dongle is out, itll probably be some time for true blue to test it and see what works and what doesnt.

we could def be waiting the summer like you said.
