Earlier today, the Team E3 releases an statement explaining the new ways to jailbreak the PS3

So here they are, the Team E3 offering us an summary of the current new jailbreak methods to be able to play those newer games on the Sony's console.

Official Statement from E3 TEAM

Few days ago, there was news posted on various websites that we had cloned JB2 (aka) 'True Blue' successfully.

We clarify we did not clone any other product, but we did find the ways on how to allow the newer games to work on CFW v3.55.

Our research has found 3 different ways to allow newer games to work on older firmwares!

A way:

No need of any new keys, but allows SOME new games to work on CFW v3.55 with a special bypass.
We think the USB device on market uses this system. (Maybe)
With this method, most games even v4.11 games can run on CFW v3.55 very easily.
But there has some games that can't work with this A way.

E3 TEAM knows this A way very well and can modify a newer v3.6+ game in 10 min.

B way:

Decrypt games with it's private key and encrypt with v3.55 key, so game can run on CFW v3.55 successfully.
For example, you need v3.65 key to decrypt v3.65 game. Need v4.11 key to decrypt v4.11 game.
E3 Team can successfully get all newer keys up to v4.11.
We are 100% sure we can get all keys to v4.20 or higher FW with same way, only it takes some more time.
This means, E3 TEAM can decrypt all newer games with this B way.

As a matter of a fact, we are planning a newer CFW (no more need to be stuck on v3.55) when we have completed our research.

C way:

Modify Blu-Ray firmware to allow newer games to run on older firmware.
But only a few of the newer games can work with this C way, so we stopped researching this method.

We are in the progress of developing a new USB device, to allow users to enjoy our work with economical cost. We will release further news and list of its features regarding this new product at a later date.

Finally, to thank all of users whom have supported us in the past with our previous products, like the E3 Card Reader and E3 Flasher, we have decided to release 2 game eboots for free for everyone to enjoy that work directly on any console running CFW v3.55 directly.

Remember our current product, The E3 Flasher is also very useful for Dual-Boot and to downgrade on older consoles, as for now we need to still stay on CFW v3.55.

PS: Unfortunately the latest Slim 3000x consoles can't work currently with downgrade or dual-boot methods mentioned above, as it is fully difference design compared to the older PS3 consoles, but have no fear we are still working hard on solving this puzzle.

NEWS UPDATE:

Video Proof by E3 Team is now working, and they also want to make it clear to readers of this thread that 'Splinter Cell Trilogy HD' has not been released by any other dongles, and that is the reason this game was included in this 'video proof' is because this game needs new special ways to able to play correctly on CFW v3.55 consoles, something they claim the other groups are NOT able to do so yet! :)

But these two games start them with or without the dongle?

So far they have released two games that work on V3.55 CFW without any dongle, see here:

Ninja Gaiden 3 and Fifa Street 12

If they have the keys, one is to question why a CFW isn't released rather than keeping legacy CFW that has no BluRay support. With F***PSN and other online access methods I take it 4.11 keys are got, just a hunch so PSN could be restored... Everyone should realize that 4.11 will play a 3.65 encrypted Eboot, so these keys will decrypt older eboots too not just 4.11

Even so, if they had such an ability, why is DLC and Eboot updates not released for games?

I guess its all in the wording. The PS3 scene makes no sense and E3 are tying to capitalize on it rather than release it for free like gligli&trios.

I really do not see any free solution coming to the ps3 scene, these groups are all looking to make money, which there is nothing wrong with it, If I had abilities that these teams have, I would want to make money.

I don't support e3 nor tb, I just spend my money with who can help me play new games on cfw.

NEWS UPDATE #2:

The E3 Team noticed the comments in the forums about 'Fifa Street' having lockup issues, mainly with the 'World Tour' option, as such they released this morning a FIX that basically adds the missing SPRX file that was also needed to be patched for the game to work on v3.55 CFW.

For those users still having problems, make the SPRX file gets overwritten in this directory on your HDD containing the 'Fifa Street' game:

PS3_GAME/USR_DIR/dlc/dlc_FootballCompEng/dlc/FootballCompEng/

Finally, some users might have to 'Rebuild the Database' via the PS3 Recovery Menu, if their PS3 has cached the wrong ver. code from the previously unpatched SPRX file!

The E3 Team are also sorry for all the inconveniences regarding this issue. :)

The ps3 "scene" (if we can call it that) is just simply horrible. End users have driven devs to be... well... quite honestly they've been driven to behave like bastards. I don't hold it against any of them though, but I think that if they don't plan to release things, they shouldn't be gloating about it, nor do I think they should be worried about what end users will do with their hacks; I say this cause it seems that ps3 devs tend to withhold info because people will pirate this or that. I personally don't care for pirates either, but I don't think they would be that important to me.

Anyways, I for one don't care for this dongled mess; I much rather have a way to just play retail copies of games on 3.55. I'm not against anybody making $$$, but I just don't see these dongles as the right way to go about things.
