How to patch PPF

Ps : You Should have the untouched iso and check the size it must be the same.

EDIT : Using Devhook 0.43/0.44/0.45/0.46/0.50/0.51 u don't need to patch games they work untouched.

Please change it to how ever prefer it.
The untouched iso size is 1,717,370,880.

Patch removes the update folder contents and changes the prx to the ones from SOCOM (US).

I was using the patch from the "other site with patches^^", i think the author is spanish. When i try to exit from a game and launch another one, it freezes on the loading screen for the 2nd game.

No for PPF both the original and the modified versions have to be the same size.

"WWE SD vs Raw 06 US, works, ciso'd needs a 2gb stick, turn OFF the wifi before you load the game and leave it off it wont stick on the start screen!(apparently)??? or try this - re-insert the launch parameters in devhook every time that launch the game!!!"

Its supposed to be 1.41GO (1 515 028 480) so there a bytes difference i don't think it will work.
If u want to try just copy ur iso in the same folder with the patch rename it to original.iso and run file.bat if u got patched.iso 0kb means the patch is not working

If so tell me what settings I need to use for devhook as I can't get the game to work. PLEASE help as I really want to play this game.

There is a full package for devhook 0.41c all u have to do is copy folders to ur MS start devhook
settings :
UMD SELECT : select ur iso
UMD MOUNT : iso anyumd
UMD VERSION : 2.xx --> 2.00
FIRMWARE : 2.5
CPU CLOCK : 222Mhz or 333Mhz Its up to u
BOOT SELECT : REBOOT XMB

use this settings for all 2.xx games

u need to rename ur iso to original.iso

Ex : ur iso is Tomb raider legend.iso rename it to original.iso and start the patch
if u have to untouched iso the patch will work

patch is working fine if u have the same untouched iso otherwise i don't think it will work

I can release a ppf patch but u still need the same untouched iso as mine

The one that I have is

1,199,013,888 bytes

and it says it is the untouched iso. When I apply MeetJoeBlack's patch, it shrinks down to

1,175,650,304 bytes

and from what i understand the patch is supposed to leave the patched version the same size if it works correctly.

@ Josser , not sure but if you open the patched iso in UMD Gen is there the update files in Sytem\Update folder..

Then open up your original unpatched iso in UMD Gen, are there update files in the Sytem\Update folder...
If so, that will prob be your differance in the patched size... this is only a guess.
I got pretty much the same result as you when using that patch and my patched iso works fine so far ..

The only prob I've had with any of your patches is 2006 Fifa World Cup
My unpatched/untouched iso dump was matching the required size,
but when launching the patch for it I recieved mutiple unexpected CRC errors while the patch was doing it's thing.
The patch finished and the iso wasn't readable on my PSP, but was openable in UMD Gen. When open, UMD Gen gave the message of Crosslinked files.
No prob as I just made a new iso without the patch and used prx from SW BF2for the meantime.

Would it be any better if you posted the MD5 of the unpatched iso you made your patch from along with the already posted iso size?
Maybe this way ppl will be able to definately work out if they have the right iso to start with before using your patches and posting not needed questions.

Unfortunately, meetjoeblack's Talkman Euro patch would not work for me so I don't know if the headset works with the euro version.

I guess it's another noob question; however your psp can only read .mp4 files directly from the menu (but a lot more with some 1.5 compatible programs like PlayerMT ...). Then even with a .wmv, .avi, .mov, .mkv, .mpg ... in your PSP/VIDEO directory, it can't be directly read unless your video is encoded in .mp4 format.

Ahem, anyway, maybe not the right place to ask about that...

First is xdelta patch second is ppf patch (apply directy on the iso, easier and faster) but both of them needs the same untouched size

I swapped the PRXs for the Street Riders ones, dummied the movies (except the ones that give you the mission objective) with a blank 20k .pmf, dummied the dialogue files (except US English as it was the US ISO I was using) with a 5k .at3 file, and dummied the .bin files for the other languages - giving me a fully working ISO (except it doesn't exit with the HOME button - but that's a known problem) - 185mb CISO'd.

If you want I can give you a list of the movie files I dummied.

Use UMDGEN 3.01 - open the ISO in that, and extract to a folder.

In Explorer, go to the folder you extracted to and copy the .pmf file from the rar to the USRDATA/movies folder, and the .at3 file to the USRDATA/dialogs folder.

Get the .prx files from either Star Wars Battlefront II or Street Riders and overwrite the files in USRDATA/Modules with the corresponding ones.

Go to New Compilation in UMDGEN and drag and drop the PSP_GAME folder and UMD_DATA.BIN you extracted into the window.

Now, go to PSP_GAME/SYSDIR and delete the UPDATE folder.

Go to the Movies folder and right click on the 0.pmf and select File Relinker/Use Selected File As Source.

Now select the following files :

Next, just go to File/Save As and save as an ISO, then use CISO at level 9 - you will then have a compressed 185mb file.

i think the game uses LBA check, so if u remove stuff from the iso (this include update folder), the game will not longer works. so u must use the full 1.6gb iso patched with MJB patch in order to run...sorry, but for 130$ u can get a sandisk 2gb card..then u r all set, u can try all the 1GB+ games without problem, u dont need more than 2GB anyway :D

i mean a lot of us aren't english and appreciate your great job.so if your ppf delete some languages it's important for us to know that.

i said the same thing at gherudos who made the first fix for this game.and he said me to rename english to french and french to english.ok

but after many tries we know that to keep all the sound we have to keep both languages,english and french

so how can we know how works your ppf?

i've used a fix (race driver)where the creator give us the way to keep or delete some files .this fix was working on psp_game,not on the iso like you.

My fixes just fix the iso in order to work without deleting anything, after its up to ppl to rip what they want.

As u know some games have LBA check so swaping prx wont work, And even for games that swaping prx works don't u think PPF patch is easier and faster for ppl, u just have to apply the patch less than 2 sec :) swaping prx + rebuilding iso + vcdromx or umdgen LOL. I make it easier

They patch the oiriginal iso. You can make a backup, before apply them.

Not really, ppf files are used since PS2 hacking scene exists and many years before I think ^^

First make sure u r using the fixed iso

settings :
UMD SELECT : YourIso
UMD MOUNT : ISOANYUMD
UMD VERSION : 2.xx ---> 2.00
FIRMWARE : 2.5
CPU CLOCK : its up to u
BOOT SELECT : Reboot XMB

And don't forget the 2.5 firmware dump. The original Devhook pack doesn't include any firmware files. You have to dump it from a UMD game disc or search the net for it.

replace prx with ones from street rider.. dont have to replace the other 2 including the module file.

Been reported that it works with update folder removed too.
Hope some one can rip all the languages except English out to make it even smaller. I sense a Fix coming hehe

I have applied the xdelta patch, the ppf patch and TRL_RIPKIT_EUR693mb. None of them loads in devhook .41 for me. I tried another ripkit that asked for the prx from street riders that I don't have. I used the settings (in dev hook) supplied by meetjoeblack. I also tried a few other games that are supposed to work with devhook but doesn't for me. Can someone please help me as I really don't know what else to do.

what exactly is this loco roco. Just checked on amazon and its released on the 23rd this month. Looks a bit of a cartoony sort of game.
