It always hard to explain exactly where you are wrong.

Try to see this guide to troubleshooting.


Troubleshooting

Why .mcr savegames don't works? (possible causes):

1) Save game must be in .mcr file.
2) Savegame file corrupt.
3) Savegame must be exactly rename in the correct way.
4) Savegame must have of the same country (PAL game CAN ONLY LOAD PAL SAVEGAME, you can't loading a ntsc savegame in a pal game, ect ect).
5) Savegame must have the same Id game, Example SCUS-12125 you can replace only it with anther savegame with SCUS-12125 Id code. (There can be various codes Id different for the same nation, for example game Pal but platinum ect ect. - Psx Tomb Raider Pal Id code is different from Tomb Raider Pal Platinum)
6)In PSX2PSP v1.2 (for example) you have changed the Id save, and .mcr file is no more compatible.
Example:
Id code =SCES-01000 Kula World (Ntsc)
Id savagame code =SCES-01000 .mcr

If you have edited Id savegame for example in SCES01008, is no more compatible, because Id code are different.

If you have still problem. Try to look the illustrated guide in first page of this thread.

You can find it here. But it isn't compatible 100%. Best solution is buy a new psp. Also because you need a psp to dump a iso from Umd game.

Hi all guys, Redeemed here.
Since i'm a huge fan of Kenshiro and co., i thought to take a bit of time into looking what currently freezes Hokuto No Ken: Seiki Matsukyu Seishi Densetsu in popstation.

Usually, it freezes after the last fight with that red haired guy who shoots arrows (the one in the open stage area). Debugging the game, seems that it calls an unemulated hardware opcode, most is VIDEO_REFRESH and general GPU ones.
Since its impossible to fix it to work on psp, i thought to take a bit of time to play the game on Epsxe and to transfer the save to CwCheat.

Well, ive gone far past that point, finished 4th mission (Jagi) and about to continue the game. No freezes, nothing at all.

So i thought to share to the ones who want both cwcheat memorycard and psp save for your pleasure.

Hokuto No Ken: Seiki Matsukyu Seishi Densetsu
Popsloader required;
Popsversion: 3.52 (works perfectly in everyway, ive used this)
CwCheat for the memorycard to import, if you want;
Save attached to this post.


----------------------------3.52 Save Method-------->
First, copy the save into PSP\SAVEDATA.
Load the iso with popsloader, selecting 3.52.
Press start in main title screen; you should have all the options unlocked. If not, select third option and load the game (second option, then upper option as "yes").

----------------------------CwCheat Import Method-------->
Get the save attached, copy it to PSP\SEPLUGINS\CWCHEAT\MC;
Load the iso with popsloader 3.52.
Go to title screen. Hold down select and select Manage Memory Card from CwCheat main screen.
Select Load Memory Card 1 from Memory Stick.
It should say "OK!".
Exit CwCheat, select third option in main menu. Select 2nd option "Load" then upper one "Yes". Now it should load the memorycard.
You can check if everything's all right by checking if the four option in main menu are all enabled. If not, try to repeat the steps, sometimes it takes 2 tries.

FAQs:
- What happens when i load the save?
Select the first option, then you should see all the chapters. If you want to battle shin after the freeze part, just select the first chapter and hit start when you see the cutscenes. The game should resume at that point.
If it still gives problems, go for the second chapter.

Allora i salvataggi Popsloader sono in Vmp. E questa la sigla che si usa per definire il salvataggio popstation con la cartella e tutti i file dentro.

Praticamente i vmp sono protetti, quindi è inutile condividerlo. Per farla breve e semplice; se mi dai questo vmp a me e lo provo sul mio o quello di un altro Castlevania SOTN NTSC non funziona...

L'unico modo e usare questo tool.

Praticamente converte un Vmp in mcr.

In questo modo, tramite la mia guida (che si trova nella prima pagina di questo forum), altri utenti, tramite cwcheat, potranno caricare il file mcr, ed utilizzare per caricarlo, e salvarcia nche in futuro. Perchè si creerÃ* un nuovo file vmp and un nuovo utente.

Quando lo trasformerai, "attaccalo" nel tuo post. Così potrò metterlo in prima pagina, ovvimente mettendo il "credit" cioè dire che lai fatto tu.

Che intendi dire cambiare i valori?.

.mcr files are compatibles only with ePSXe emualtor, I don't know this emualator, because I play game on my old Psx or on Psp.

I think there is a folder called savegame or save in ePsxe software..or something of kind.

Try to put them there.

Unfortunally you can't change id savegame from mcr.

Final Fantasy VII NTSC have SLUS-00892. In mcr, then, there is SLUS-00892.

When you rename donwloaded file from here in your slus, you rename the file, but not savegame file., because inside the file it always SLUS-00892.

Alright.
First of all, the save files are already in your computer, correct?
The file extension for your save file might be ".mc", but you're going to want the extension to be ".mcr"
If you've been playing on EPSXE, then the save files are already in .mcr, and youre set.
Otherwise, you need to convert the .mc save files to .mcr using this program.

PSXGameEdit / PSXGE - PSX Game Save editing utility...

The program is called PSGameEdit, and converts your memory card save files to .mcr. But I never needed to use it, so youre on your own with that one

After you've got your .mcr save file, you need to download CWCheats, which not only enables cheats to use with your psp games, but it can also transfer save files from your pc to your psp, and vice versa. Heres a link...

And heres a guide on how to use CWCheats to transfer your save files to your PSP.

So if your save files are already in mcr, you can just skip down to the Installing CWCHEATS section.

You also have to know the ID of the game you want to transfer. Although the guide gives you a link to some Sony site with a bunch of IDs, I prefer this one, because it's much cleaner and runs faster on the comp

Now a few things can be a bit confusing in that guide, so I'll leave you with a few tips..

1. When the guide talks about how you need to make the name of the save file identical to the ID of the game, just go to the ID site i gave you, and copy and paste it as the name of the save file. But make one change... change the dash into an underscore ( _ ), just like in the guide. Then, you actually have to manually add "-0" to the filename, after the 5 numbers of the ID.

2. THIS IS WHAT SCREWED ME OVER and maed me waste like an hour of my life... lol
You have to load the CWCHeats menu and select "load save" BEFORE you access the load screen in the game. Otherwise, even if you load from the memory stick, and it says OK!!, the files will still not show up. For example, in FF7, you have to enter the CWCheats screen while ur still at the intro of the game, or else the files will not show up...

3. If, in the CWCheats menu, you select "load memory ccard from memory stick" and it says something like "error" or "unable to load" or something like that, then you did something wrong obviously. It has to say "OK!!", and then you kow it worked. If not, you probably messed up the filename. Check it, and try again.

4. if you have popsloader, which you probably do, you may notice that you have to download CWCheats, which is in the folder "seplugins", and popsloader is also located in a folder called "seplguins" (Same name) Also, they both have to be in the root of your psp. So go into the popsloader seplugins folder, copy everything, and paste it into the CWCheats seplugins folder. Now, its going overwrite like two files. You need one of those file sfor CWCheats to work...

so go into the folder, open up pops.txt, there should be one line. Add this line to the file and save it.

why is it that when i load ff7 king's saved files in the cwcheat menu and i open slot 1 or 2 to play his saved files it says there i need to format the slots first before opening it?

Like say before is impossible edit id region code. It say to format it because recognizes like "demage" (guilty different Id region) and formatting it can resolve that error.

I read you thread where you say "share your savegame" ect ect, but say you that will remain black, because eboot.pbp savegame are "crypted" then you can't use vmp (vmp are eboot.pbp savegame) of other people.

Only way is .mcr trought cwcheat.

This is a bit little complicated.

Best solution is save in Vmp normally, for the future, if you want, can convert vmp to mcr with this tool.

i think you misunderstood me
my question is, how do i save using the cwcheat memory card (in .mcr that i downloaded)

because when i save in FF7 the natural way, you know, press triangle button>> click save >> click slot 1 >> then save, i shows there that the game was saved
but when i load the same .mcr file (because there's where my save is), it doesnt have my save game, it just have the original save game i downloaded

i mean is saving different if you use .mcr file to load your game data?

i learned that if i load .mcr file in the cwcheat menu and used it and then i save my game after, i don't have to load again the same .mcr file the next time im gonna be playing my latest save coz my latest save is already in the sava data folder of the psp and i can access it straightforwardly next time w/o needing to load the .mcr file.

so in a nutshell, it seems that one will gonna be using .mcr files just to load a saved game but after that the suceeding saves will be placed in the psp savedata folder and we'll not gonna be needing to load that mcr file anymore

i hope this is explained in the first page so that noobs like me will not be lost lol

Probabilly you haven't put mcr file in right place or you have renamed it in wrong mode.

Convert savegame in other region is impossible, only way is to find a pal savegame on internet...I am going to search...

As long as all the files are in it my PSP will recognize the saves.

Speak about downloaded game is piracy. Piracy is gainst maxconsole rules. Then remamber next time. I say for you...

What you mean 3.02V?.

You can load only file in .mcr. There is a complete guide in the first thread page.

You can load official psp savegame in Vmp. (That with folder, and file inside), because they are crypted.

Are you sure you are using same region?.


Why .mcr savegames don't works? (possible causes):

1) Save game must be in .mcr file.
2) Savegame file corrupt.
3) Savegame must be exactly rename in the correct way.
4) Savegame must have of the same country (PAL game CAN ONLY LOAD PAL SAVEGAME, you can't loading a ntsc savegame in a pal game, ect ect).
5) Savegame must have the same Id game, Example SCUS-12125 you can replace only it with anther savegame with SCUS-12125 Id code. (There can be various codes Id different for the same nation, for example game Pal but platinum ect ect. - Psx Tomb Raider Pal Id code is different from Tomb Raider Pal Platinum)
6)In PSX2PSP v1.2 (for example) you have changed the Id save, and .mcr file is no more compatible.
Example:
Id code =SCES-01000 Kula World (Ntsc)
Id savagame code =SCES-01000 .mcr

If you have edited Id savegame for example in SCES01008, is no more compatible, because Id code are different.

Usually that problem happend when when there is a different Region or different Id region code.

Have you modified Id region game?.

Have you read all troubleshooting guide?.

I think you mean menu, when you press "home" button, right?.

I think there is a problem with buttom. Probabilly is is stuck. Like is is always pressed. Try gently sometimes to press it. But I think is defective.:(

uhm.. is there a way to load this w/out holding the select ?
i tried this.. using cwcheat, at the end of ps logo i load the memory and its a success but the game game will freezes after this and then change it to popsloader then i tried to continue the game but no savedata found.. well it didnt work

i used SLPS-02100 3.71[posloader 5.00] it works fine
theres a debug menu when you start the game (maybe you have information about just maybe i can edit it and change something when i start a new game "cheats")
you cant start the game without passing this debug menu
then i chosed kosaka - title then you will sent to the title screen

about the debug menu maybe not all P2:EP has this...

I thinking it was the first savegame point....Maybe the best thing is defeat last enemy, and restar the game with all level like in savegame. Persona games usually keep all level, weapon ect ect when restat game.

Or try if cheats codes work.

I don't understand what you mean with "dumping". Try to use only a cheat only one time, maybe too cheats codes activated make crush the game.

I thought I'd have to start from scratch again, such a relief to be able to pick up from disc 2, again I am very grateful :)

One problem I've encoutered so far though - the ff7 perfect save, when I load it I get to the choose mem card to load save from screen and it tells me mem card 1 needs formatting - the other saves work but this one doesn't for some reason, I've tried re-dling and renaming... I'm using the ntsc-u with the same game IDs as the original so the saves should work, I'm not sure what's going wrong.

I search around internet, but I haven't found nothing.

I found this list, seams that with 3.51 popstaion and GameID SCUS-94640, game work without problem.


This game does not let you save before changing discs, so you are going to have to either use a patch made by Psychospacefish, CWcheat, or create a multidisc EBOOT with popstation_md (only works on 3.71-4 m33 or higher)

3.40: Use GameID SLPS-01222. It will appear a little laggy, but it's less likely to freeze. Update: Use GameID SCUS-94640, it's much better.


3.51: Use GameID SCUS-94640.


3.52: The game will freeze when accessing the character status.


3.71: Update by GamerbyDesign: Tested on 3.71 M33 with SLUS-01041 & SLPS-01222 it does not freeze when accessing character status, however it does freeze in the first boss battle against Mama Komodo. If you use GameID SCUS-94640 it wont freeze after Mama Komodo, but going to character status it will freeze.


3.72: Use popsloader to run 3.72 pops. With GameID SCUS-94640 it wont freeze on character status or the first boss Mama Komodo! It REALLY matters what converter you use to make the eboot. Read Here for more information on what converter to use.


3.90: Intro movie does not load on the first disc. Use 3.80 popsloader to run 3.72 pops.


3.90: tested on my 3.90 psp and worked perfectly. i am using original the actual game id and i have both discs in one eboot.

-Tested it too. LordJovanius' info is correct.


4.01: Status screen freezing both with original and 94640. Loading 3.72 instead fixes it.

-Froze at the end of the KingMoaman Battle using 3.72pops.Use 3.03 Pops to get past it.

5.00: Using GameID SCUS-94640 it doesn't freeze on Status screen and it doesn't freeze after beating Mama Komodo. 5.00 m33-3 might be just as good as 3.72 for this game. EBOOT was made with PSX2PSP v1.4.2


5.00m33-3: Use UltraISO 8.6.2.2011 to create the 2disc .ISO then use RS-GUI PopStationMD v.3.00 to create the single eboot.pbp (with psx2psp 1.4 the game freeze on Mama Komodo) and remember to use GameID: SCUS-94640. Start now the game, it will stop after PSX logo: time to press Home and select to change Disc, select disc 2 and start the game again. This time the game will really start till the screen with New Game and Continue. Choose the one you need and you will be asked to insert disc 1. So time to make the second disc change again, so press Home and select Disc 1 and everything will work flawlessly - by Druids1974


5.00m33-4: Using GameID SCUS-94640 Load with 3.40 pops as a single disc eboot and as soon as you gain control of your character check for the Status Menu freeze. If you've got no freeze then the game will run perfectly. Tested with eboot made from POPstation GUI 3.00 Beta By RagnaBlade47 Update by Reilsel: works perfect even without pops 3.40 eboot made with POPstation GUI 3.00 Beta By Zinga Burga. Does not freeze after defeating mama comodo and going into status screen.


5.00m33-4: Use popsloader for 3.71 m33. it goes fine on status and mama komodo. I picked 3.40 pops on the pops menu.


5.00 m33-6: Crashes after PS logo, with or without pops. Workaround: If using a single disc eboot, change disc to the second cd, and it will run fine until the New Game/Continue screen. Chose either option and it will ask for the first cd. Change to the first cd and it should run fine from that point onwards.


5.00 m33-6: double boot loads fine under 3.72 pops.


5.00 m33-6: Use SCUS 94640 as the game ID / Set popsloader to 3.80 works perfectly.


5.00 m33-6: 3.72 pops freezes on char. status screen. Use 3.8 pops to get by.

Why .mcr savegames don't works? (possible causes):

1) Save game must be in .mcr file.
2) Savegame file corrupt.
3) Savegame must be exactly rename in the correct way.
4) Savegame must have of the same country (PAL game CAN ONLY LOAD PAL SAVEGAME, you can't loading a ntsc savegame in a pal game, ect ect).
5) Savegame must have the same Id game, Example SCUS-12125 you can replace only it with anther savegame with SCUS-12125 Id code. (There can be various codes Id different for the same nation, for example game Pal but platinum ect ect. - Psx Tomb Raider Pal Id code is different from Tomb Raider Pal Platinum)
6)In PSX2PSP v1.2 (for example) you have changed the Id save, and .mcr file is no more compatible.
Example:
Id code =SCES-01000 Kula World (Ntsc)
Id savagame code =SCES-01000 .mcr

Uhm if you have legal FF:VII game, and then 5.51 original fimrware. The game can work perfectly...the only think, you have a Fake memory stick...I mean that Memory stick from China or too cheapest.

Try to ex-change memory stick, (Example with your boyfriend) and try to play and save the game in your psp, if savedate is anymore corruped this mean that is Memory stick fault.

Uhm...Resident Evil 3 to work has Id region changed. This mean that savegame usually don't work...

Another thing...You say Eur Version (NTSC). Eur is PAL game, NTSC is USA game...:confused:

Another way is to use cwcheat codes...for example these:

They are for NTSC version.

But same problem. With Id changed codes don't will work.

Another thing...game can freeze in future because (above all) pal version isn't compatible to Psp.

You have SLES-02529 Resident Evil 3 - Nemesis it si for sure PAL not ntsc. Your link code is for NTSC version then don't work...

Antoher thing. like say before..Pal game have a lot of problem to be played on psp. It work only with 3.40 popstation...For sure if you play it...somewhere while you playing..game will freeze or black screen.

Yeah. This is a strange thing, because on original Psx console savegame work on boht disks, but in PSP no, because disks have different Id regions.

Easy and simply. Made disc (two) both have same gameid, saveid and picture and they work fine.

It's too long as passage, I will try to be brief.

Take disc two and use alcohol 120% to create a image file and save image as .cue file (you can use also clone cd, save come .ccd fle)

Unpack it.

In folder called DATA you have to insert a file BASE.PBP (143Mb).It is found in the game Hot shot golf 2, (Eboot.pbp rename in BASE.PBP).

Double Click on PopstationGUI.exe

Select the .cue that you have, select output folder, and select compres level 9,

Now you must put same game id of game and same id samegame for first disc,

After all, click on GO button.

It generate Eboot.pbp

Put it's in mso:\PSP\GAME\Castlevania

Where name castlevania is an example. You must create and rename folder with name of first folder disk.

Only you can loading your savegame. I can try to find another savegame to start from disc two.

I am going to search...Do you know need cwcheat to load my savegame?. Without cwcheat you can load .mcr. There aren't other ways. Read guide in first page of this thread.

Sorry. I , or other people, can't convert save in vmp, because vmp are crypted.

For level 99 and money you must activate them, after go to save the game. When you will load the game you will have them.

If you have active them for many time games freeze.

Unlimited HP & Chakra no solution. It is a cheat code that you must use for many time in the game. Then game will freeze.

If you have Naruto to 99 Level, no need codes about Infinite Hp. In this way naruto is powerfull, you should defeat enemy without problem.

I don't understand waht you mean for audio and video converter.
If you mean to convert, for example a .mkv or .avi video. use software pspvideo9. It is free.

I never do it. It is very daungerus, because you can get a semi or full brick. I advise you not to do anything.

Not all epsxe savegame Pc emulator work with cwcheat. Usually is opposite. Cwcheat mcr work with Pc emualtor.

Try to change Id region of third disk in SCUS-94163.

After using the old conversion methods the save file would still not work for me and I would spend hours tring to get it to work to no success. The process I found was you convert the raw psx save with PSV Exporter to an .mcs then use PSX Game edit and convert to a .mc then use batch rename exe and where it says type here to add suffix type .mcr then you just have to remove the old format from the filename and make sure the game ID is correct. Can one of the mangers move this to guides if you like this process.

Mate, believe me. Only way is loading .mcr file about this thread trought cwcheat. More convert tool you use, less work. I don't test every single savegame. Maybe .mcr file is demaged.

Can someone try to get a NTSC (SCUS-94426) and PAL (SCES-02105) version save game for CTR (Crash Team Racing) NEED 100% all characters, races, Gems, relics etc.

The first one i found in the save game collection did not work....
