According to Spanish retailer FNAC, Rayman Legends will be available for to the PS Vita this August 29th.

As we’ve seen in the past FNAC has been pretty accurate with its listings as the retailer was one of the first to publish the Jak & Daxter HD Collection for the PlayStation Vita as well as a delay for Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us.

Here’s a look at some of the new enhancements you can expect with software update v.2.10:

• Create folders to more easily manage your favorite application icons on the home screen, with up to 10 icons in each folder and a maximum of 100 on the home screen (including icons inside the folders).

• Verify which PS Vita card you are using by looking at the home screen’s info bar. You can also save the layout of your home screen icons in the memory card.

• Added video support allows you to play videos within the browser (memory card required; some videos are not supported).

• New email enhancements allows you to view HTML messages, add multiple email addresses to your contacts, and easily search your messages using the new search feature.

• PlayStation Plus members will be able to automatically update PlayStation Mobile format software and upload game save data onto online storage using 3G connection.

• New “Mute Automatically” option will mute your PS Vita speakers when your headset is unplugged and pause your music when using the music app.

"In the game you play a ninja called Hanzo who runs around slicing up zombies. You draw a line to jump, dash, dodge and slash, and pinch the screen to use Ninjutsu Techniques.

There's a story, hardcore challenges and, within the Arcade mode, two sub-modes: Survival, which tracks your kill count, and Gatekeeper, which tasks the player with preventing the zombies from entering Hanzo's village."

Black Rock Shooter will likely have gamers dusting off their PSP’s since it hasn’t been disclosed if the title will be playable on the PlayStation Vita.

Arriving on the NA PSN on April 23, and a day later for the folks in Europe, it’s nice to know that after patiently waiting and being teased that we’ll finally have Black Rock Shooter in our hands. Far from being the be all end all of licensed anime games, it’s still nice to know that someone out there actually decided to localize the game rather than leave gamers importing the title and making the best out of the situation despite not having a clue on what’s going on due to the language barrier.

On why Microsoft isn't in the handheld market:
The reason is that the handheld market sucks, and to the extend there is a handheld market and Nintendo owns it.

About the PS Vita:
The Vita is a joke. It's a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful piece of hardware and nobody owns one. The reason nobody owns one is It's too good, It does too much. Developers aren't making games for it because the market is to small.

You're not going to get a big install base with the Vita at this price, and even though It's a really slick device, if there is not a lot of people who own it, you're not going to get a lot of sotfware. And It's a vicious cycle, if you don't have software, you're not going to buy the Vita. If you don't have Vitas, you're not going to get software. So, the Vita sucks, Sony has no prayer of making money on the Vita.

About the handheld market:
The handheld market is not as big as It used to be. With the 3DS I think Nintendo is probably going to continue to do ok, 15 million a year, that's a nice market for handhelds. With the Vita on the market, they (Sony) are going to make 5 million a year, why do we need a third (handheld)? All that would happend is that demand of 20 million handhelds will get split three ways instead of two. Nobody makes money selling five millions units a year.

More about Microsoft:
Microsoft is not in the games businnes to sell games, that isn't why they started this. Go back to 2001, Consumer Electronic Show, Bill Gates keynote... Billgates unveiled the Xbox and he said: "This box is going to be the entertainment hub in the living room". Now, Microsoft lost It's way early on because they had a bunch of guys working on the box who were former developers, you know all of them... those guys were gamers all the way and chased games, and they made the Xbox in to a hardcore game box.

Then Don Mattrick got there and John Shappert got there. Shappert is a game guy too, but Mattrick went back to the roots and they turned the Xbox into this multimedia device.
