I downloaded the patch,but how can i use it? What do i have to do? I have the game in japanese,but i don't know how to use the patch :( Please help me

So I fire up the old tomba games the other day and I got to the point in tomba 2 where I could load my previous data for extra missions in tomba 1, but my data wasnt there. how would I go about fixing this? If I remake my Eboot using the gameid for tomba 1 will the save work for tomba 2?
