You better get a 2000. If I'm not mistaken, all 2000's are hackable nowadays, unlike 3000's.
The difference is, you supposedly get a brighter screen with the 3000, but it's actually shittier

(I can confirm that, I have a PSP-3000.)
It's a little lighter, and it has an integrated microphone for Skype (and those few games that support it).
But not all of them are hackable. Definitely not worth the risk.

The only 2000 model which is not hackable is the TA-088v3... but it's worth noting that any PSP regardless of model (with the exception of the PSPGo) is hackable (to a degree) if it has firmware 5.03 or below installed on it.
For example the 3000's can run a GEN HEN which has almost all functionality of CFW.

heys guys, its been years since a touched a Psp and being of a senior age now 41ive lost trqack of the in's out's of sorting the psp for more fun and games.
I have a 2003 running 4.05 firmware can some nice person point me in the right direction to opening up my psp to run homebrew etc
