what i think he meant was to get a card that used wood firmware(R4,Acekard) because right now it the one of the firmware that's constantly updated

I just randomly tried an R4 patch on Shin Megami Tensei - Strange Journey and it actually worked. I saved the game, DIDN'T get a "failed" message, restarted my DS and the save was loadable.
I've uploaded it (as in the patch, not the game) to my (now useless) saves archive here.
