updating my friends psp today

i havnt done anything like this in a year so i need to refresh my memory... its cfw 3.XX (dont remember which one though) how do i update it to the newest one? dont i stick the update.pbp in the update folder? or game folder? cant remember... also whats the most stable fw thats very new?

Mate you must say us what cfw you have exactly installed.

Another thing...for now, lastest game aren't playble, with lastest custom firmwares.
