Is there a way to rid the need of the 1.5 kernel so I can upgrade to GEN?

I'm on 5.00 M33-6 and want to play newer games but don't want to upgrade to GEN. One of the reasons is that there is no 1.5 kernel add-on as was with the Dark Alex firmwares. Well all my homebrew and emulators are all 1.5 KXPloit still.

    1) Can you go through the short list of apps I have below and just put a yes or no next to each, yes meaning there is an updated version and a no if there is not.

    2) If there is a much better updated version or type of program that I have let me know what it's called.

This would save me a lot of time searching for something that doesn't exist. At least if I know there is I won't be wasting my time searching google. Thanks in advance.

    SNES Emulator - Snes9xTYL 0.4.2 - Has menu music
    Sega Genesis/CD/32X Emulator - PicoDrive v1.35b
Text Reader - PSP Reader 1.1.0
NES Emulator - NesterJ for PSP Ver1.06
    GB/GBC Emulator - RIN Ver1.25
    GBA Emulator - gpSP version???
    N64 Emulator - Daedalus v1.12?
NEO GEO CD Emulator - NeoCDPSP v0.8
    Atari 2600 Emulator - PSP2600-v1.1.2
TurboGrafix 16 Emulator - HUE for PSP 0.70
    iRShell v5.0?

So would somebody know how to convert these to the one file ones (5.xx) or at least name the apps or emulators that I listed that there are single files of? If there are better and newer apps that do the same thing as I have, let me know.

Mate, the best way is to search one by one with kernel with 3.xx or above.

Try to find all them, and after pass to GEN.

I can give you a link where there are homebrew with high kernel:
    http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=80963

I don't think you can find them all, but many are really famous, you shouldn't have proble to find them.

Thanks, I willl look through them tonight. This will be very time consuming, but will be worth it. I knew I had to get around to doing this eventually.

It would be easier to just downgrade to 4.01 M33. It decrypts and plays all the latest games and you get to keep using the 1.50 addon.

I've NEVER needed 1.50 Homebrew, all emulators and applications worthy of being updated to 3.x, 4.x and 5.x have been, including the list you posted here, a few minutes on Google will yield downloads for each.

LEDA 0.2 supposedly works on GEN (disclaimer: I downloaded it, but haven't tried it yet).

these im not sure of, but probably work:

    GBA Emulator - gpSP version???
NEO GEO CD Emulator - NeoCDPSP v0.8
    Atari 2600 Emulator - PSP2600-v1.1.2
TurboGrafix 16 Emulator - HUE for PSP 0.70

THESE/and or update version of these work on 5.50 gen (tested myself):

    ishell needs a gen patch.

    SNES Emulator - Snes9xTYL 0.4.2 - Has menu music
    Sega Genesis/CD/32X Emulator - PicoDrive v1.35b
Text Reader - PSP Reader 1.1.0
NES Emulator - NesterJ for PSP Ver1.06
    GB/GBC Emulator - RIN Ver1.25
    N64 Emulator - Daedalus v1.12?
    iRShell v5.0?

    may help

a PC app the patches a decrypted eboot.bin
it should help the game run on 5.00 m33 or 5.03 CFWs
PSP 1.5 got on USA first day is was 1.5 till Xmas 2006 now 4.01 M33 -> 5.00 M33-6(1.50 addon)
It a good idea to have "Hide extensions for known file types" in Folder Options(under Tool) unchecked (turn on extensions)
    READ THE README.TXT

Just about all homebrew has been updated to work with the newer kernels and most are better. As they have name changes you will have to go to the correct section on this forums or use google to find them.

These days there is no need for a 1.50 kernel addon so update and enjoy all the new features without the lag of the 150 kernel.

BTW, the 2000, 3000 and GO all cant use the 150 kernel and a lot of people use them.

The 2000 has TimeMachine 1.50/3.40HWM or LEDA... and can use 1.50 Kernel rather comfortably. Even so, there is no need for 1.50 now at all...

yea, a modded time machine or leda but not the 1.50 kernel itself.

anyway, 1.50 isn't needed. I dropped it about 4.00M33 as it was corrupting the PSP so it went the way of the dodo.

TimeMachine doesn't need to be "Modded" to run 1.50/3.40HWM its purpose is to support the 1.50 kernel (Hence the name, TimeMachine), TimeMachine (1.50/3.40HWM) is actually the 1.50 Kernel, the sections of which are incompatible with the 2000 Series have been patched with hardware modules from 3.40 (I would have thought they would patch it with 3.60, because that's what the Slim was released with).

I'm not too sure about LEDA though...

And I'm in agreement, however i have NEVER used 1.50 kernel for any homebrew, i entered the scene with a 2k series TA-085v1, all homebrew that i wanted/required was ported to 3.xx by the time 3.71 was released.

Yes there are updated versions to all of them that all work on the 5.50 kernel, if you google them one by one you should be able to find them (some emus/tools might not have been ported but still have equivalents, though I think they all have been ported (not sure about rin))
May the scene be with you

Cheers to Dark_Alex/Moonlight, Adrahil, Fanjita, Ryoko_no_usagi, Groepaz, Booster, Cswindle, Joek2100, Tyranid, Nem, MrBrown, psppet, xorloser, tmbinc, every devs from Prometheus, emu_kidid and Shadowsan from GCOS, gcmods operators, every one who supported us, and every devs who I forgot to mention on this signature

Thanks to the pspway.ch staff and users to have come to see me from so far away and give me a psp slim to toy with !
