    Flashing Wd2500BEVS Help

    Just purchased a WD2500BEVs hard drive awaiting the possability to have a 250gig hd on my console when i found it doesnt matter how hard i try i cannot get hddhackr to run i have tried cmd prompt by typing hddhackr h as thats where the bin file is and the hddhacker exe but keep getting this

    All help is greatly appreciated

    You have mistyped exe name.
    First you typed just typed hddhack
    In second try you forgot to type r after hddhack and space between hddhack -r

    But it will not work from windows - Command line in windows NOT DOS (If you are not using Win 98 or lower).
    You need to use DOS bootable flash drive, or something similar....

    I don“t think if it is good idea to mod your hdd if you are not able even use command line.
    You can totally mess it if you will use it wrong.

    Find some tutorial, it may help you

    rename the file to hdd.exe

    use the file I attached to make a bootable USB drive

    boot from USB

    type hdd.exe and follow on screen instructions

    BTW I see you are running Windows 7 how you like it?

    getting there

    Ok i have a bootable floppy with dos on now also have a bin file named HDDSS.bin and hddhackr file named hddhackr.exe do i put these on a seperate floppy or on the dos boot disk? is there a full guide for this as i dont fancy bricking up the drive.

    yes hdd hacker and the hddss.bin go on the bootable drive

    btw when I had hdd hacker with the default name I could not get it to run so I renamed it hdd.exe and it worked

    k i get this in Dos mode

    TypeTheName Of the Command Interpereter(e.g.C:Windows/COMMAND.COM)

    now what do i do i have the files on the boot disk and on the prompt line i type hdd.exe and that what i get. any chance of raring up the files i need so i can put them on my floppy and retry?

    hddss.bin is ms copy righted I can't post it on the net

    All done m8 typed hddhackr.exe and it worked just need to transfer all my saved games so easy when you know what your doing. i have saved the floppy for further use got a few m8's that want a bigger hard drive could make a few pennies fron it. ^^
