has anyone got banned that doesn't run any games through ABGX?

read an irc quote that has c4eva saying that ABGX could be the issue, and reading through the banned thread it seems that just about everyone who got banned used ABGX...

I'm not sure on the details, but what actually stops ABGX from having bad data?

I ran all my ISOs through ABGX but disable the writers so it never touched the image but I was banned this morning, I use a Kreon drive to rip the originals, I rent a lot of games from Gamefly some would verify while others said to use auto patch level 3 but I always ignored it

never let it fix any of my games, just made sure it said stealth passed then I would burn

^yea but it could've been your spoofd drive that got you, or the dumb batman thing, or the hacked hard drive.

so many factors at this point, who knows.

I don't think it's anything to do with ABGX to be honest - I think the more and more people that report they have been banned the more it looks like they have found a way to hash check the firmware in the drives - I did the dashboard update in my 5 months old 60GB model two days ago and no problem. I only ever play backup games offline on an offline profile, and never put a pre-release game near my xbox (when the disc is in the shops i'll play it) - the only games i play on line with my online gamertag are retail discs - never play any backups. I turned on this morning and got told i was banned too. it seems strange that the ban doesn't happen immediately after the dashboard update, but the next time you use it after it has done the update and rebooted.

I'm not really bothered about xbox live apart from guitar hero/rock band beatles stuff but i'm curious to see what's happening....a couple of other people on other forums have said they haven't played backups and they've been banned as well. one guy had put ixtreme on his xbox, and was waiting for verbatims to burn some backups and he got banned - without even a backup in sight.
