Microsoft claims that its 'reinvention' of the entertainment business has resulted in a shift in consumer demographics. According to them, a pretty healthy percentage of 34 percent of Xbox 360 owners are indeed women!

Microsoft says its reinvention of entertainment has seen a shift in where the Xbox lives in the home, with 60 per cent of Xbox consoles now integrated into the family living room. A shift has also been seen in the Xbox 360 user base: 35 per cent of Xbox customers are women and 64 per cent are over the age of 25.

Chris Lewis, vice president Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft Europe, says the imminent launch of new social networking features will only help broaden the console's appeal.

"… next week will bring real innovation into the living room through instant streaming high definition movies, connecting with friends on Facebook and Twitter and a personalised music channel. Together, this represents a real shift in the way people are entertained every day," said Lewis.</blockquote>

35% of purchases may be made by women, but the idea that they are all 360 gamers is bum nuts. My current girlfriend and my ex both hate my 360, both were far more into Nintendo systems. The majority of games are run around and kill things based, not many girls seem to have the same bloodlust as most lads.

If you have never seen a good looking gamer chic then you are apparently living where you have a whole gaggle of ugly girls to begin with. My last three ex girlfriends were serious gaming females and all three were hot.

These stats probably reflect higher for girls in the US because I know a lot of girls here who have a 360. As a matter of fact a friend of mine used to go to his g/f's house to play the 360. He has a PS3 and a Wii.

I know quite a few girl gamers with 360's as well as a few with PS3's but I think the Wii probably trumps them both as far as the percentage of female users. Home and Live are pretty much sausage fests so I wouldnt be surprised if 20% of those 35% are actually guys pretending to be girls.

Like those dumb losers from gametrailers (invisible walls)....that shane sadderfield who talks more about his fuking wife than he does videogames. Then when uncharted game came out, someone mentioned how drake has these witty banters with the girls in the game to which shane said "Oh yeah, i actually do that to my girlfriend all the time" and everyone laughed their ass off at him. The worst part is he was serious. If you have seen him live, he is an ugly, retarded, mediocre, laughable loser.

The only girls who are into games I know are chicks who play the wii fit, or brain training. Apart from that there are a few who play games on consoles, but NONE of them are into games like uncharted or modern warfare, and all of them are hardly the most attractive girls in the world.
