Assassin's Cred 2 reviewed by IGN, awarded 92 percent

IGN has gone and reviewed Assassin's Creed 2. And they seem pretty impressed with the sequel, awarding it 92 percent in their review and concluding that it is well worth anyone's time and money.

Assassin's Creed II transforms a middling action game into an intriguing and consistently entertaining open-world adventure. Based on this game, Ubisoft Montreal should run a clinic on how to iterate a franchise and if the series continues in this vein, the next installment will take aim at Rockstar's best efforts. The experience is layered, unique, and shows an incredible attention to detail. This is one case where the sequel has triumphed over the original by catching the gameplay up to the already excellent visuals. No matter what your preconceptions are about Assassin's Creed II, the game is well worth your time and money.

I'll buy it when its cheap, the repetition of the original annoyed me.

It looks like the 360 is the one to get for multi-console owners too, apparently screen tearing and poor textures on the PS3.

Don't be fooled by this review, I played the first 3 chapter of the game and it's plain boring for various reasons and i'm sure at least one reviewer will have the balls to expose them. AC1 was broken, but at least it was very enjoyable at some point and bringing some fresh air. This is not the case here, it's more a regression.
By the way, The story is dumb, cliché... it's an insult to smart adult. Why make a 18+ game if the story is told for 8+ ?

I've put in about 8 hours into it so far and it's way better than the repetitive first one. It's still repetitive if you don't enjoy climbing buildings, sneaking through environments, and completing assassinations. But if that's the case, you shouldn't even be considering Assassin's Creed 2. The difference in this version is your targets are actually integrated into the story and you have a personal interest in seeing them dead & you don't have to complete random pointless missions in order to begin these quests.

Also, I am enjoying the plot in a JJ Abrams kind of way.

Im skipping this one...for all the hype the last one was one of the most disappointing titles in my collection, too repetitive, I've played puzzle games with more variation.

I finished it yesterday and its a great game. I cant wait till tomorrow to get it on PS3 and play it again.
Its better than the first as now you can swim in water, you have a gun, lots of weapons to choose and a whole lot of new moves.

If you've never played the first or the second then how can you complain about it?
If you didn't like the first then you probably wont like the second but you still don't have to bad mouth it for all the fans.

I think its the best game of the year. I'm not even bothering with MW2 as I think this is better.

Well, the first one had a great storyline and great missions structure (apart from the GOD-AWFUL investigation parts which ruined it for me).

The actual assassinations were great and cinematic. I'll give the second one a try.

I've been busy with Episodes from Liberty City so far, what amazing expansion packs!

True, is a good game, with new move to kill villans. I have played AC on psp and the game is really boring, is too repetitive.
