Facebook is hitting the PS3 today, amazingly that's just one day after all the social networking goodness hit the Xbox 360. Eric Lempel of Sony told 1UP that the feature has been in the works for quite some time and it's been planned for a long while.

1 day later and its nothing to do with coping??? Has sony been yping up this feature at all or does it take 1 say longer to add code to psn rather than live.

I can't see anything new when I start up my Ps3 today.
Maybe you either need an update or to restart the console, I know that with the iplayer update I had to restart the console.
actually im not... i dont use facebook even on pc... i think social networking in general is a waste of time. But thats just me. I could care less if the wii got it today also.
I was just pointing out features that appear on live seem to show up on ps3 after the fact.
Like avatars for 360.... yes they are different the mii`s but does anyone dont think miss`s wasnt the motivation for them?
To me..if you like these features, then be happy you got them... but when the feature is only on live dont slam it as crap, then praise it the day it comes to ps3.
But that seems to be the tradition. Those who get it first get bashed and those who get it second praise the glory.
But from a business stand point... if someone makes a "free" trend online and its popular and 1 company adds it and hypes its for the last 6 months, then another company adds 1 of those features a day later. It looks like someone is watching what the competitors doing. I dont blame them... hey if it makes your service more dynamic and better then why not add it?? nothing wrong with that, almost everything is a copy from some company and based of what another company did in the past.

Facebook had a deal with all consoles to begin with.
In reality, they couldnt release it the same day as live because IT MICROSOFT and they buy exclusives to underwear printing for games. Just like NEtflix. PS3 had to make up its own workaround to be able to get it out from under MS's dirty smelly armpit.

facebook is already on ps3...using the web browser :-P. this ps3 facebook update is only a few worthless features. 360's facebook integration is done way better. if your going to sit in front of your TV and get on Facebook, the 360 interface is much cleaner and slick.
The PS3 just does everything !!!
You have to wait... they release the updates later on the day. Everytime i get out from work at 5:30pm Central Time the updates are ready. So im guessing around 2pm central time.....

OK let me see, I can get facebook, on my pc, on my mobile, on my TV via verizon FIOS widgets, soooooooooooooooo why should I care that there's yet another way to go on the thing? I wouldn't be surprised if I could go on facebook from my airconditioner.

as far as copying goes, is sony really that fast? you would have to think that this was planned on both consoles around the same time. If we go by your "it takes longer to code into the ps3" scenario into account then ms are the ones that copied sony since it had to be in development first on the ps3 if it was only released 1 day earlier than on the easier to code on 360. True or not, why are we arguing about something so trivial anyways?
