Surazal on our forums found out the difference between a demo and full Xbox Live Arcade game is only a few hex-edit away:

Find a copy of Yaris (this game was chosen as it runs everywhere as full).
Open the pirs file in your favorite hex editor (filename was FB9310B8893A3FD01C443A29AC246493393E399558 )
Copy everything from 0x22C to 0x25F inclusive.
Shown as selected on this image (guess you don't need to find Yaris if you want to just copy the values highlighted).
Open your destination (in my case Castle Crashers filename: F9432A7FE407A3C196C95D0FFD4A540937FD4EEC58)
select 0x22C, and paste (overwrite, not insert). File size should NOT change.

Note that this is (probably) illegal if you didn't actually buy the actual Xbox Live Arcade game. But as running a "homebrew enabled" Xbox 360 is not (and probably will never be) safe to connect to LIVE this is way to make your Arcade games you bought play in full version on your homebrew Xbox 360.

until its fully up and running like xbmc with hdd loading,mame etc its all basicly useless to an end user like me.

Still the same old person. Try doing a bit of reading, they have hdd loading, signature checks are now finished, u can use any size hdd u want now, load via usb, mames up and running, loading iso images, only thing there isnt is xbmx360 an they`ve said they aint interested

there is nothing made public,when there is i think differently,next thing you know ms patch it and all the warning fireworks are flying off.if the console turns out worse than xbox then i stick with dvd+r dl as i could just shove a disc in the xbox and it would boot or load to hdd with xbox.

as for mame,i got 3 arcade machines (see i am pretty serious gamer) and one cab is a mame (candy cab style) albeit i am working on my mame cabs control panel so the sticks and buttons aint connected as yet but,my xarcade does the biz.

you and i know that once ms knows how to patch it,cos its 360 the warning flares will be flying,drive hacking is straight forward bar being banned,this will increase the odds of ban dramaticaly and the only thing for drive hackers to worry about is newer drives,with motherboard hack you dont know when everything will get crippled with a game update.

well lets see cos perhaps things become simple and straightforward or perhaps things take the realy bad route and it involves too much messing.

i could carry out the hack if i wanted to but,i have neither the reason to or the inclination as its not essential enough in my opinion.

complications this is what i am getting at and many will say the same thing,its just involves too much messing and half the machines capable of this are hardware catastrophes in first place.

AFAIK its not the old dash that needs it, its just pre august 09 update, which was still NXE. Anywho, forgoing the whole "piracy talk should not be here" discussion, this obviously wouldn't be for the normal end user such as yourself saleem. This would be for the hardware enthusiast such as myself (i currently have 3 360s one of which IS actually pre-NXE) that enjoy getting the fullest out of the hardware. I am overjoyed that all this stuff is coming out, and while I probably won't be jumping at the chance to pirate XBL games, it's certainly nice to know that my console that I worked hard to buy is actually finally being able to be used at its full potential. I liken it to buying a PC, and only the only thing I am allowed to do on it is run Office. What fun is that?

I posted this more for the news aspect rather than encouraging it. Or it could be used to run legit apps bought using a different console (which you own) and then using it on an offline console.

Of course! if you are jtagging you don't care for XBL, or have many consoles.

MS can patch it, but there's at least 2 ways to avoid it...
1.- Removing a simple resistor (MS can't patch physical stuff)
2.- Write protecting the NAND (again, physical stuff)
3.- Stay out of live, be careful with game disc and stuff

I'm not sure, but if you have CPU key, you can redoit, but I'm not taking in mind 1bl.

I've done it, and is amazing to see it running games from HDD, no so stable yet, but it does wonders.

Why would you even take a j/tagged box onto live, that isn't what it is for anyway. Just like the old xbox you give up live for all these other things it can now do, or you just keep 2 xboxs like I do.

I believe that after Christmas there will be a flood of small apps & emulators coming through for the 360. Its an exiting time, Im also happy that its hard to do (not really that hard).. it keeps a lot of the ungrateful idiots away.

Is it possible to just copy the game to the games folder on the xbox official drive like you would for game saves?

The reason for my choice in title was more because, although we dont really want it, we know its going to happen.

Its like the wads on the wii, they are talked because they are used legitimately (e.g. update the OS) but many people (elsewhere of course) just use them to pirate VC games.

Tell you what though, even I regret the choice in title, if an admin can, either delete the topic and I'll repost or just change the title.

Although I am still wondering whether its possible without referring to 100% piracy.
