How to fix modded wii that was updated to 4.2 by mistake?
I have a friends wii here that I modded back when it was 3.4u or something like that. Well he got the bright idea of updating it to 4.2 without asking me first. So now Im having a heck of a time fixing it. Now I normally follow this guide http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=171901 however none of it is working. It will not remove stub ios files or add any new wad files to the system. What do I need to do to fix it?
1. download the old IOS files which are now stubs of xbins
2. install the HBC/bootmii using hackmii installer
3. do a bootmii backup (just in case)
4. install CIOS rev 14
5. run wad manager
6. install the IOS wads
this will restore what you asked for. To downgrade just install the system menu wad (dont know where).
that will do exactly as you asked in reference to the IOS files, but why doesnt that guide work for you? the only reason to need the older IOS files is because of the system menu.
