Help with Banner Brick LU70

I bricked my friends wii. I know I need to put a mod chip in it. I have a WiiKey installed in my system, can I just swap it into my friends, or do the LU70s not work with wiikey. Any help would be appreciated.

Another question: Do I need to modify it to fix it?

I've been reading that you can install a higher firmware using savemiifri which should fix everything. The current firmware of the console is 4.0. Can this be done?

Also ios 70 is the ios for system menu 4.2 so i dont know if an update would work since its already the latest version.

Do you have an ntsc copy of ssbb? If so, try using the hack for that if you can using savemiifrii and:

1. Install bootmii as boot2 and. Do a backup
2. Run dop-ios and reinstall ios70
