    dead Blu Ray lens question

I have a CECHG01 with the KEM400AAA lens tray and disks stopped working.

When a disk is inserted it tries to read the disk 9 times before giving up. I can see a red dot bleeding thru the disk on the label side from the laser, and blue & red light when it turns on without a disk in.

I just want to confirm these symptoms are the result of a dead laser or some other problem, since I can see light from emitter.

[edit] CDs and DVDs work just fine. The problem is just with Blu Ray disks.

    Thanks
    ~Ben

Yep deffo the laser replaced one in a ps3 60gb yesterday with exactly the same symtoms.

Word of advice change just the laser rather than the whole mechanism as its much easier to do.
