Animal Crossing works flawlessly, that would be the first thing I would try, oh and make sure to have an original disc in the drive!

Is there any chance of getting a mac/linux port of this, or a program that has the same functionality? Is there any way to stream ISO/GSM to GCOS without this program?

    Thanks.

Initialization error is probably because you don't have real GC game in the drive, or it could be a network issue.

Was getting the same error when i tried to connect from the GC to the server on the pc. Took a stab in the dark and moved the executable directory to a path that doesn't have any spaces in it. Actually made sure the path was short like old DOS files (eg, C:\GCOS-RLS) and that stopped the error from occuring.

    Thumbs down

Why can't i get past the "Starcube" screen on my GC!!!

No matter which launcher I choose I get the "INITIALIZATION ERROR"

With the one that's it, with the other i can try changing the connection settings but it makes no difference.

On my PC I am not even seeing the GC attempt to access the DVD Simulator!

I can't understand how this scene is surviving at all when even the most basic things won't work. I got further than this 3 years ago with PSO!

Guess it's too hard to take a Scene seriously when it's next console is a bust before Wii even get to see it!

I actually suffer from the same problem, the drive refuses to spin up and i just get an initialisation error and yes i have a retail game in the drive (mario kart in this case although i've tried mario sunshine as well)

i use the maxdrive pro by the way to load gcos

in gcos, before going to the lan explorer go to the "dump firmware" menu option, it might be a quick fix for this problem.

    same result.

The GC is still not even attempting to contact the pc after the StarCube starts.

I still get the same problem unfortunately

anyway it would only be a little gimmick with me as i usually just use mini dvd-r for my games with gcos still would be great though if you could ever fix this problem.

    Keep up the good work

If you're using GCSIM Repack then it could be a problem with your network card because it has trouble with some network cards. Try using GCSim Preview edition instead and choose the 10mb half duplex speed.

about to just say forget it!

This POS GameCube is worthless, even as a paperweight.

No matter what the settings, network conditions, game in the drive, duplex settings, repack, preview... they all give the same result.

    Nothing.

The .dol file is not even attempting to contact the PC after it gets loaded.
