i wouldnt worry realy what a jtag hack does its what it will allow you to do.i mean do you want to know what the jtag hack is?if you do you wouldnt understand what the thing is in the first place as its well scientific.

if you want to know how to do it?what it will allow you to do then thats a different mattter.

all you are doing is wiring the console up with 3 wires to certain points on the motherboard to enable it in the first place.to actualy do it you need to wire 7 wires to the motherboard on jtag points in a certain way and connect the wires (lets say by parallel port adaptor) to your pc.you use a command in windows dos to run certain apps to allow you to read the nand (thats where all the stuff on the motherboard runs lets say for sake of arguement) then once obatained,you can take certain bits of info from the nand and write it to a modifed firmware that you will then rewrite the consoles nand with.

it will then allow you to run custom dash and apps that will allow you to run external hdds for loading iso images of games from,xbla and dlc.these would be the main things that the jtag hack is used for.
