Amen brother! Which is why so called kiddie games like Mario, God Of War, Final Fantasy et. al. have such a high following even they are most likely the furthest thing from reality you can get!

Agreed. I have never understood people who "play" Flight Simulator etc.

spot on, also the reason why the wii is killing the hd consoles, it has fun games.

we now know the Xbox One's game licensing policy was written from the ground up for companies. It's aggressively anti-consumer and anti-middle class, and it outright ignores underprivileged gamers. It's gross, despicable, greedy, pathetic, cowardly and out of touch with a growing global resentment for corporations. - Polygon 7th June 2013

I just want to add that FUN is the reason why a game like Excite Truck (after 4h of practice!) rules all other leading offroad games like Motorstorm, Dirt, RalliSport & Colin McRae. I've never had so much adrenaline in my veins while playing a game. Too bad the sequel is filled with all the fun stopping minigames.

Oh my god! Yeah I totally forgot about that and it's sequel: Excite Bits. I mean how far from reality can you get with making a 2 ton truck spin in midair or making a truck shaped like an insect or animal turn into a walking bot ala transformers and running over the competition?

I tried that GT demo the realism was great but as far as the fun goes it sucked compared to those two wii games. (and the online for excite bots wasn't half bad either)

It depends from kind of game...

Game like Super Mario, Megaman, Larry , ect ect, isn't so important...but game like Gran Turismo, or war games, graphic is all (or almost).

    For me chart is this.

    1)Graphic
    2)Simulation
    3)Funny

Call of Duty wouldn't be such a big hitter if it wasn't realistic, Gran Turismo wouldn't be the biggest driving game if it wasn't realistic.

You can only apply this idiots statement to Wii games, they can get away with being unrealistic, but not for future games which requires realism (GT, FIFA, CoD), if those were to simply go unrealistic people would simply go "WTF?" and not buy it anymore.

I agree with him the important part is the fun, Realism doesn't suit bodycount.

Oh and calling Call of Duty realistic, that's the funniest thing i have ever heard it is nowhere near realistic its effectively an arcade game, While its very outdated with a new one around the corner Delta Force is much more realistic.. then what would you expect from novalogic?

Agreed...too bad the young ones look for realism, they never move a square trough the screen in the past for fun.

I'm not surprised to see you mention this although that's not what the original article was about. (Just adding an edit here: I hope your view doesn't represent the typical Sony gamer as you are the majority; I hope your lack of gameplay as an important factor was simply something lost in translation - a developer could make a realistic looking 3d version of Tetris with real life physics (assuming very little gravity) and it would be little better than the original, possibly reviewed worse for nostalgic reasons, gameplay is everything.)

I agree with fun > realism - it's what made Grid such a great game and CS 1.6 (or was it 1.5) more enjoyable than Source.

Yes.. Delta Force, Project IGI etc. is indeed far more realistic than COD.

COD is only a fast paced "arcade fps" game. If it were realistic, it wouldnt be as popular as it is.
Wanna know why so many buggy games never gets fixed on Xbox 360 and Windows Phone?

Microsoft charges 40.000$ each time a Indie dev submits a patch.

Microsoft...They are as Indie friendly as my Ass.

Wii U in short: Free online, frequently Free "On Disk DLC" and no online passes.
