FAIL, long way to go
great news?
So it has 9 sweet spots, not bad not bad in my opinion. Probably a reasonable arc I imagine.
Well its a great first step![]()
The really cool stuff will happen 20 years from now....
For a world free from glasses!.![]()
Sounds like its along way from being a real consumer usable product. The link suggests early adopters will be getting very experimental equipment as it stands.
Give it a year and this will be worth looking at.. that is an improvement for 3D as far as i am concerned, i do not want to replace my screens for quite a long time anyway and i won't even consider a glasses based setup.
What i would like to see is every manufacturer switching to develop this technology instead, Toshiba now has something tangible that can become mainstream if it is worked on.. the only question left is will certain companies switch or will they continue in their attempts to push technology on people that is ill thought out and could be considered just as under-developed?
Even still do not force marketing on this, get the concept out there to get a bit of R&D money back.. have everyone improve on it and then push it mainstream?
Its time for Toshiba to piss on Sony again..LOL
With this state of this so called "glasses-free technology", what's the point of watching your movies in 3D?
The 3D effects all stay inside the box. Rather than giving the "out-of-box" effect.
Well it ain't gonna look that great.
To achieve the out-of-box effect without the glasses, you need to go beyond just a simple LCD screen.
Long way. Hope you folks can wait.

Glasses 3-d done failed before it even gets outs the gate.... just like the 80`s.
Something tells me this just wont do...i dont know just a guess...3D is not DVD or even HD revolution...is kinda slow in home enterteinment.
Yea the effects are out of box with the glasses.Originally Posted by JonathanD;

Unlike you I speak from experience. I own 50 inch plasma samsung 3d tv.
I am happier then a pig in sh!t to have it to. Motorstorm 3d same thing. Images leave the screen.
Thos new method of 3d would not be for me. And in my opinion is more likely to cause eyestrain. Plus can the 3d be turned off an be used as a normal tv? And mark my words images will not pop off the screen without glasses.
The free monsters vs aliens 3d blue Ray the tv came with in the beginning of the movie the scientist is playing ping pong and the ball leaves the tv and appears to nearly hit you in your face....
Whaere are you getting your facts?

................
rotflmao hmmm so if you look away from the TV you see stuff flying around? dude I want to know where you get your pot....
The fact is that AF tech (Alternating Frame... the glasses your using) has been out for a very long time. I speak from experience having tried them out the on the Sega Master System back in the 80's... Amazing tech yes!, 3D with stuff "flying out in your living room" absolutely not.
So my experience with your "new tech" might be a bit more then you realize lol
